Traveling Day to Portland/Vancouver

Well, we are off again! I had us all packed up and ready to leave for the airport on time! We stopped at Ken and Lisa's on the way out to feed Christian's fish. Our friend Leanna is going to feed them the rest of the week for me. I then had to make a quick stop to pick up some things for Carlos from Christina. She took this picture as we got ready to leave for the airport. Our flight left this evening around 5:30 EST. Here we are at the airport waiting to board.

The kids and I couldn't sit together. The plane was full and they couldn't find 3 together so I put Landon and Sierra together and I was able to sit right behind them.

Our first stop was Salt Lake City. When we arrived we thought we would only have 45 minutes until our next flight took off. When we got to the gate we found out that it was delayed 1 hour. Carlos is enroute from Kansas City to Portland . . . he made it to Phoenix and now is on his second flight. I guess he will have to wait at the airport for us until we get there. Hopefully we will get out of here just with the one hour delay and no more.
Since we had some time to kill we headed over to California Pizza. We just split one 8 inch because I talked to my friend Ksusha and she said they are cooking a bunch of food for us . . . they are excellent cooks. The pastor and his family are all from Russia. This is the same family we stayed at when Lisa and I went back in May. On a side note, please pray for Ksusha's grandmother . . . she is having surgery tomorrow and she is very worried about her. Her grandmother still lives in Russia.
After we finished eating we headed to the gate and we found something to do. I am blogging :-) Landon playing Sierra's Nintendo DS and Sierra is playing with Landon's soldiers he brought with him. The kids have been great travelers. I am really enjoying this special time with them. Please pray our flight gets out of here by 10:15 Central Time.
I sat by a real nice lady who lives in Salt Lake City. On our approach to Salt Lake she was showing me different things outside the window. I learned something new today . . . first of all . .. I never knew there was a "real" lake called Salt Lake AND I never knew it was made up of salt water. I am 41 years old and never knew it!

Wow! You are doing so much travelling this summer!

I don't think I would enjoy being away from home so much, but you all look like you love it!

Have fun!

Dorothy - I think we have been living out of suitcases since mid May. This is very unusual for us but it has made for an exciting summer!

Cindy - I hope to go there and spend some time too. I just need to pray that Carlos gets a speaking engagement out there! :-)
