Jordan's 20th Birthday Part 1

HAPPY 20TH BIRTHDAY JORDAN!
Wow! Two decades have past since I first gave birth to Jordan. I find it hard to believe that I have a child now in their 20's but it is true! Jordan has been a pure joy to raise and to watch grow all these years. He is a true man of God and an annointed musician and worship leader. It will be exciting to see how the Lord uses him after his schooling is over in 3 more years.

If you have been an avid blog reader of mine you will know we have a tradition of giving the kids three gifts for their birthday .. .a breakfast gift . . a lunch . . .and a dinner. We also decorate the wall with their new year and decorate their chair. It's a tradition we started when Jordan turned 1.

Opening his breakfast gift!He needed new summer clothes so we gave him a bunch of American Eagle shirts. His friend Nate . . who is in the Army t-shirt gave him a day at Wet N Wild theme park. So, the five you see below all headed out for a day of fun in the sun. They were planning on staying until about 8pm that night so we decided to do the rest of the gifts when they all got home. I ended up playing keys with Edwin for a 6-8 pm prayer watch at the House of Prayer. It worked out perfect because we all got home that night right about the same time. He also invited a TON of his friends over for a party . .

Here he is opening his lunch present which was an AEROPOSTLE Hoody and a gift card for gas to 7-11.

His dinner present was an AEROPOSTLE t-shirt and a McDonalds gift card.
Then about 9:15 pm his friends started arriving! Here are a few pictures from the night.Marisol and Alexia

Jordan's 20th Birthday Part 2

We all gathered in the kitchen area to sing Jordan Happy Birthday! He has some inredible friends! It's hard to believe our baby is 20.Happy 20th Birthday Jordan! Happy Birthday To You!
Happy Birthday To You!

Happy Birthday Dear Jordan!
Happy Birthday To Yo!
After cake the group gathered in the family room for a game of "Mafia". I have no idea how to play but all I know is that they have a blast playing.

Thanks Ralph and Rachel for coming all the way from Kissimmee to celebrate Jordan's birthday! Things then started to get a little wild . . . . . . .. LOL

We then had a surprise visitor show up . . . . .Joe! Our long time friend who we have not seen in a few years. Joe was our first worship leader for our church. He is an amazing keyboardest and was basically self taught. He has given lessons to many in our church. He was kind enough to give me a lesson during the party. I can't believe how much he taught me in 30 minutes . .. thanks Joe!
When Jordan was about 15 he went on a missions trip to Brazil. While he was there the Lord reinstated the love of the piano back into him. (He had taken piano for 6 years and was classically taught) When he was in the 8th grade he gave it all up. So, when he came back from Brazil Joe took him under his wing and started giving him lessons but this time instead of using sheet music he taught him by chords. He also mentored him on leading worship. Joe sat down at the piano and showed us some of his new stuff.
We were all amazed!!!!
He even gave Jordan a couple tips :-)
It was so good to have Joe with us tonight. It was a perfect way to end the evening!

Another Monumental Moment For Me

This is Jordan's last Sunday here in town before he has to head back to KC. He lead worship this morning and I played backup keys for him. This was my first time playing in a Sunday morning service. I had the best time and I love sharing moments like that with him. Thanks Jordan for giving me another opportunity to play with you! Also, thanks for my lessons and for teaching me all the cool new stuff. I will practice hard to work on all you taught me.

I love you!

After church we were suppose to have a Senior Leaders meeting but Ken ended up not feeling good so we decided to reschedule. A bunch of us grabbed a bite to eat.
My friend Andrea surprised us and treated us all to lunch . . . .thanks so much girly! We love you!
What a weekend . . . our second baby graduates. Our first baby is turning 20 next week. Our third baby starts high school in the fall. Time is passing by so quickly. We have been so blessed with 5 amazing kids, great family, incredible friends and a church family that we love! We are truly blessed!

I have to admit I have an amazing husband who I adore too!
This evening we are all just going to hangout by the pool and probably bbq again!
