Secrets For Ageless Skin

One year ago I turned the big "40". I decided that I needed to take a good hard look at my skin. I have always taken "ok" care of my skin by cleansing and using a moisturizer every day. I did grow up on a lake and vacationed in Florida twice year so my skin did see the sun. When I turned 30 I did then decide to not get sun on my face and to use a sunscreen everyday.
After doing some research and after seeing a show on PBS I started checking out Dr. Denese and her book. I read the book and was surprised that Dr. Denese did not just pump her products. She gave many brand recommendations and also supplements that were great for anti-aging. Another thing about Dr. Denese is that she is a medical doctor who specializes in anti aging so she gives the "science" behind the products and what they can do for your skin.
I started using her products and taking some of the supplements that she recommends and I have seen a wonderful difference in my skin. Here is her website if you would like to read more about her. Dr. Denese
ADDED INFO for Kathy :-)
Well, the first big thing she recommends is drinking water . .. that is what will really keep your skin hydrated. Lack of hydration or lack of moisture can cause WRINKLES. Also, she said we need to be exfoliating our skin every day. I will explain what I use in a minute. Also, she recommends sunscreen EVERY DAY - even in the winter. Also, there are a few different supplements she recommends. The first is fish oil. She advises taking three capsules first thing in the morning before eating anything. Then she advises taking carnosine. Both of these supplements help your skin. I start the day by cleansing - I like to use Purity Made Simple by Philosophy - I then use Dr. Denese's Wrinkless Serum which I dot under my eyes. I let that dry and then use her product called Hydroshield on my cheeks and forehead. I then use Restoreyes under my eyes. Once everything is soaked in I use her Tinted Day Cream with 30 SPF. In the evening I cleanse, and then use her Firm Facial Pads (a glycolic pad which exfoliate's the skin) .After that dries I use her Cellular Firming Serum and let that dry. She then has a product called Wrinkles Rest . . it is her "big gun" it is loaded with all the goodies. I use that on my forhead lines, crows feet, mouth lines. Once a week she has a wonderful microdermabrasion cream that I use in the shower. You use your fingers to apply and then massage your face for two minutes. When you rinse your face feels so incredibly smooth! She also has a Triple Acid Peel which I have not purchased yet but would love to someday. You can buy her products directly from her office in New York but the best deals are through QVC . She was a wonderful Discovery Kit that is so affordably priced! Hope this helps!

Emily!! That is no where near enough info on this book. Share some more!! Good job on keeping us hanging. Ha! What exactly are you doing? Have you found that you are spending quite a bit more on skin care? Anything in particular that has made a big difference? Also I've been meaning to ask how you stay so slim. You have such a gorgeous figure! Of course, from your family pictures I can see that your sister and parents are also trim. Do make exercise a priority? Healthy eating? Share when you have time. :)

I guess I was blessed with good genes by heredity but I do work at it too because I LOVE to eat! I started working out about 2 1/2 years ago faithfully. I would walk 3 to 5 days a week and then I have 3 different versions of The Firm in which I would do 3 days a week. I have to admit that I have been very faithful the last 6 - 9 months but starting February 1 st I am going full force again. Also, I do not drink regular soda. I drink a lot of water and a little Diet Coke. Also, even though I LOVE to eat I do not have a big appetite. I do eat all three meals and usually snack inbetween but I snack on good stuff. My weakness is McDonalds - at least once a week I get a cheeseburger, small fry and small Diet COke. I call it my reward lunch :-) I know when I am working out I eat even more . . My eating habits are not nearly as healthy as De'Etta - in fact - not even close. But we hardly eat fried foods, red meat or too much junk. We eat a lot of salad, chicken, fish and other vegetables. We are not big dessert eaters except for my chocolate chip cookies and apple pie. I try to have around a good variety of nuts to munch on when we need something crunchy. I hate to tell myself I "can't" have something so if I really want something that might not be the best thing . .. we eat it in moderation . . .maybe just a couple bites of something. Hope this helps!

Hah, I just saw the picture of the book and went right to my library website. Just what I need, one more book to read! Thanks for the recommendation, Emily!

No problem Kristine :-) I know what you mean about books . . . I have so many on my nightstand just waiting to be read. It seems as soon as I make a dent in the pile along comes another pile :-)

Kathy,
I asked her the same thing awhile back when I noted how often she eats out. I would gain weight just BREATHING all those food particles!

That is too funny Cindy!
