What happened to the alarm?

Today I was very busy and I didn't have time to take very many pictures so our incredible cat Jeter gets the spotlight for today. I do have to admit he is an awesome cat . . . This morning Carlos and I were suppose to leave for he airport by 4:45 am but our alarm clock didn't go off (or we didn't hear it) and we ended up waking up at 5:30 am. We jumped out the bed and we were off for the airport by 5:40 am. Carlos had a 7 am flight to Kansas City and we were not sure he was going to make it. He did call the airline on the way to find out when the next flight was if he would miss the flight. Thankfully, there was a 9 am flight that was wide open. We made it to the airport by 6:25 but because he had checked baggage he didn't make the flight. I left him at the airport since the next flight was on a couples hours away. (He will be back in a couple days)

I went home and went right back to bed. I have to say a big thank you to my inlaws for letting the kids sleep over at their house last night so they could take them to school for me. This was a huge help!

I wokeup around 10 am . . .got dressed and then headed to the prayer room to study for a couple hours. I am currently on a goal of reading through the Bible this year. In past years I have always had good hopes of completing it but I have to be honest . . I have NEVER made it all the way through. This year it's going to be different . . . I am going to make it! After reading the Bible I dove in again to the book Cecelia gave me. I am so loving this book it's called "The Bride" by Rhonda Calhoun. It is an allegory based on the Song of Solomon. Here are a few things that jumped out at me today in the book:

* He fixes His gaze on the state of your heart and not on your accomplishments or the lack thereof.

*In pursuing the approval of man, I forgot to pursue my Beloved; I didn't take care of my own heart.

* I am a lily growing in a beautiful valley and He finds me lovely.

* There was a time in my life when trivial things consumed my thoughts but not anymore - I now love too much and feel too deeply. I am held captive by the love of Him.

It's been funny . . .over the last two weeks three people have given me things on the Song of Soloman. The first was my friend Meraly . . she gave me part of a 20 part series on the Song of Soloman. Then my friend Sharon about a week later gave me an audio CD of the first of seven in a series of another study on Song of Soloman. I finished the first CD yesterday and it was awesome! Finally, last weekend Cecelia gave me the book "The Bride". Do you think the Lord is trying to tell me something? :-) LOL
Around 1:30 I headed to the feed store to get Farley some feed. I was shocked to see the price had gone up again . . it seems to be rising every month. Then I went and unloaded everything . . .fed the horses and then it was time to get the kids from school. We are having very severe weather this evening and is suppose to continue throughout the night. There has been tornado's but thankfully nothing too close to us. There are new storms forming off the coast right now so I am going to have to really listen tonight for any bad weather that comes in.
After dinner we watched American Idol and now I am catching up on the elections and reading blogs that I am very behind on.
My sister in law Heidi also started blogging and she and my brother live very close to my mom and dad. I found this picture on her blog tonight. As you know my dad's 75th birthday was last week. My Uncle Andrew, his twin brother, and his wife Aunt Sara, came up for a birthday lunch. I think they both look awesome for being 75. . .way to go guys!

I love the photo of your dad and his brother.

Wow - busy time for you.

I'm also determined to make it through the Bible this year. I believe I'm going to make it.
