Sierra's Singing and Playing Debut
For about the last year I have been teaching Sierra the piano. She has caught on so quickly. Well, this past Sunday morning she and her friend sang a song during the offering at church. Sierra played the piano and sang. Her friend sang too! They sang one of my favorite songs REVELATION SONG. When you get to the site it's song number 11 on the playlist. The girls did an amazing job and the received a standing ovation. Way to go Girls!!!

Sunday Morning With Cory Asbury
Sunday morning was our last service with Cory, Anna, David and Jordan before they had to head home to Kansas City. They all lead worship for the service again and then Carlos brought forth the Word.
After he preached he minstered to the people. Our new friends from Ft. Myers who came out for the Awaken The Bride service on Friday stayed for today's service. Carlos ended up having a word for them.

Loving Those That Society Rejects
About two weeks ago a homeless man name Lionel walked into our prayer room and he was drunk as can be. He spoke with Ken and told him he wanted to get help for his drinking. Ken told him he would help him but that he needed to spend time in the prayer room each day. For the first week he was faithful everyday spending hours upon hours in the prayer room . . .sometimes even with alchohol on his breath.
By the second week you could see a change in his face and he came to church last Sunday. Monday night during the 6-8 pm prayer watch he was there and was face down on the floor crying out to God. It was so beautiful to see the change. For the last week he has worked as a volunteer in our food pantry every day that it was open. He has been "alchohol free" for the last 6 days. Ken is now working on finding him a rehab center where he can totally be rid of his addiction.
Today in church Carlos had Ken come up on stage with the pantry staff. So up came Ron who is our pantry warehouse manager. Some of you might remember that Ron was homeless about 2 years ago. He started volunteering in the pantry and after months of being faithful volunteering in the food pantry we hired him and we put him in a trailer. He is now the warehouse manager.
Nick is a faithful employee of the pantry and is so dedicated in helping the needy and also sings in the prayer room and on Sunday mornings.
Also, coming up was Lionel. It was remarkable to see the change in him.
Ken shared Lionel's testimony and also shared how he is homeless and living in the woods but volunteers every day at the pantry and is in the prayer room several hours a week. Pastor Keith also shared how he has been praying for and talking with Lionel over the last few weeks. Pastor Keith has also been counseling him and helping him through his detox.
Carlos told Lionel today that after he completes rehab and "if" he completes the whole program that we as a church will find him a place to live.
For those of you who support the food pantry financially this is just one thing your money goes towards . . .helping those who need and want help. Helping those who want God in their lives and wanting out of their addictions.
It was wonderful to see all the support Lionel has and how everyone has rallyed around him to help him on his course to a better life with Jesus and freedom from alchoholism.
Then our pastoral team prayed for Lionel. They prayed that he keeps on the path he is on. That he would have the strength to stay away and break his addiction.
If you would like to help out our food pantry contact me for more information.

Mixing Things Up A Little Bit
Lisa as many of you know is the Worship Director for OHOP. She is also the main worship leader for our church . . .though we are in the process of starting to build teams up with a different person leading each team. By doing this, Lisa will be able to take some breaks. She has been the only worship leader since Jordan left in September to go to Bible and Music School so she is having to lead virtually every Sunday except for once a month when Jordan comes back in town. By building separate teams no one will get burned out plus it gives the other teams a chance to play on a Sunday morning to help out.
She has about three musician/singers who she is currently raising up as worship leaders JoAnne- who currently leads worship for the youth and a few prayer watches, Edwin - who leads a few prayer sets and Natalie - who leads one prayer set . .plus she helps out on our Encounter weekends and leads worship for them when needed. Theses new worship leaders will eventually create their own full teams and take turns leading worship for our church . They will also continue to do a few prayer sets throughout the week in our prayer room.
This morning it was Edwin's first time to lead on a Sunday morning. Edwin has been worship leader for the "Hollywood" Prayer Watch for some time now, the Global Bridegroom prayer set and a few others. He asked me back in March to start playing keys with his band for the Hollywood watch . . .and that is something I LOVE. Edwin is so easy to flow with and he is very talented too.
He did a GREAT job this morning. Carlos and I were so proud of him and we heard great comments about how he did.
Since I play in his prayer sets he asked me to play keys for him this morning. This was my first time playing the main keys for a Sunday morning service. I am so thankful for the opportunities I and others have had the last month or so to play in different settings.
Esther (this was her first time to sing on Sunday morning), Nick (Edwin's brother) and Karen were the singers. Matt and Hermes played guitar and Javi played drums.
Edwin . . . congratulations on doing an awesome job! You should be very proud of yourself. And to all the other musicians and singers . . .. way to go!!!
PS: I am sure you all are wondering what is a "Hollywood" Prayer Watch. Well, every Saturday night from 10 - 12 midnight Edwin and our team lead worship for this watch. Esther who was singing today is the Prayer Watch Leader. We end up taking those two hours and praying for different celebrities. Esther usually comes up with who we are praying for and then we bombard the heavens for their souls! I have always felt lead to pray for the celebrities so when Edwin ask me to play keys for his team . . . I gladly accepted . .. it was right up my alley!
