Celebrating our 8th Anniversary

Sunday morning Derek spoke on Adoption. He and his wife Renee have two biological daughters and three adopted daughters from the Marshall Islands. This July they are adopting two boys from the Ukraine. He spoke on how the Bible teachers we are to take care of the orphan and the widow. It was a powerful message and it really tugged at everyone's heart.

Also, he had of his FMA students come and share a testimony. Derek is like one proud Papa with the students.

After service we all headed out for a Church Picnic to help celebrate our churches 8th annivesary. We started our church 8 years ago on Easter Sunday. It's hard to believe it was that long ago.

And yes. .. you are seeing right . .. those are NY Yankee emblems on the cake. The majority of our church are Yankee fans including Mille and Raul who bought the cake.
The park had a very nice pavillion where we had everything set up.They played Vollyball and BasketballWe did have one sad thing that happened. One of the FMA students was climbing a tree. She fell and we think she broke or fractured her leg. The paramedics came to check things out.

They went ahead and took her to the hospital. We pray that her injury heals quickly! This is Zoe . .. Laura and Tony's new baby.
The kids loved the cake!

Me and Chelsea
"Ebby, this orange soda is the bomb!"
Also, another student found a deer tick on his leg. He wasn't sure how long it has been there.
They were trying to burn it out but were not having much luck . Ouch!

Thanks to all the families and IHOP'ers who came out to help us celebrate. We look forward to the next eight years and we can't wait to see how God is going to use our missions base.
