I Am A Student Again

Well, it's been 23 years since I have been a student but last night I became one again. I started Bible School tonight. Our missions base has an accredited Bible School and I decided this year I would start. Last night was our first class for the school year!

This is Adam . . .he is our instructor for the first month. Adam, you did awesome. You are a great teacher! Oops . . maybe I should call you Professor Adam :-) LOL

Our first lesson tonight was on "A New Identity" Here were a few key points from what he taught:

We must set our minds on things that are from above! He referenced Col 3:1-5. God expects us to seek first the things of heaven IF we are truly risen in Christ. Also, we must begin focusing on the benefits given to us as a result of the Resurrection in Christ.

We also have victory over the natural life, flesh, carnality if we focus and seek after heavenly things. We need to follow our thoughts. Our thoughts that we meditate on directly influences our actions.

Success in life is possible- God's Way

He referenced Joshua 1:8

God's word has power to create things and to bring things into existence. The has spiritual power and creates life. As we behold the TRUTHS of heaven we become changed into the image of what we are beholding.

How can we manifest what God has made us to be

He referenced Rev. 7:13-15. It's all through intimacy!

Go beyond the written word and all the spiritual word to mark your spirit by confessing the word and meditating on the word.

Be watchful over your spiritual life and pray the word. All the Word of God to dwell in you and then we are to teach it to others.

Violently pursue your inheritence . . Matthew 11:12 . . .the violence he is talking about is the place of prayer and intimacy with and to the Lord.

We have to Put Off before we can Put On. Put off who we were . . .put on who we should be.

Adam recommended two books to read: Knowledge of the Holy and The Attributes of God both by Tozer.

Lesson 2 was Clothed in Christ

We must clothe ourselves with the nature of the new man. . .put on the new man - Col 3:12-14

We clothe ourselves by renewing our minds with the knowlege of our new identity and the knowledge of God.

Truth sets us free from OLD identity - shedding off our old ways

Truth establishes us in the NEW identity - when you read the word you know what is going to happen

Renewing of the mind is filling it up with the promises of God.

We clothe ourselves to be ready for the "Hour" of the Lord. Romans 13:11-14

Slothfulness, complacency, spiritual sleep is the result of ignorance or lack of knowledge to one's heavenly identity.

We clothe ourselves with the Living Christ Romans 13:14

Knowing the word is first just basic knowledge 1Peter2:2

Knowing the word is then solid experience Hebrews 5:13-14

Knowing the living word is the fullness of life 1 John 1:1-4

The living word gives supernatural strength in this natural world

********Both lessons he taught were good and I really learned a lot. We do two lessons on Monday night and then one we watch on the internet during the week. The third lesson is called Becoming One with Christ. We have homework that is turned in on each Monday night the following week.

I had made a video off my camera from last night but for some reason it won't upload.

Today I dropped off the kids at school and got in a great one hour workout. Now, I am baking cookies for Jordan to take back to Missouri with him tomorrow. I do not want him to leave but I know he must!
