Rejoice-Book 4 Karen Kingsbury
I finished Rejoice in about 2 days. I normally don't read this fast but I had alot of time yesterady to read. This book was awesome! I won't give anything away but here are some things that I pulled from the book.
1. We need to learn to Rejoice in the midst of trials and pain. jesus tells us to be joyful always, to consider it pure joy when we face trials of many kinds, to rejoice in the Lord ALWAYS. Not always an easy thing to do.
2. Rejoice . . it is the command of Christ that his people keep a positive outlook, that we find a reason to smile even through our tears.
3. Many times couples struggle when tragedy hits them but couples will always do better when they choose to be joyful -regardless of what's happening around them.
The author listed five seasons in which we will better serve our relationships by choosing to rejoice:
a. Rejoice in the Mundane - find joy in ordinary times
b. Rejoice in the Details - Rejoice when you are sorting our mail, paying your bills, balancing your checkbook and managing debt. These details are necessary but they don't need to rob you of your gladness.
c. Rejoice in Frustation - Don't waste today by letting life's little frustrations rob you of your joy. Determine to be joyful anyway. Practice makes perfect in this area. Pretty soon when someone ask you how you are, you will answer, "Good!" and guess what . . .you will mean it!
d. Rejoice in Restoration - Sin is one ofthe greatest thieves of joy. Our happiness can be robbed quickly when we get sucked into a familiar sin or any sin that causes us to be lost in shame, guilt, and wrong doing.
e. Rejoice in Sorrow or Tragedy - God understands grief. Death, illness and painful trials were never God's intention for his people. Since the fall of man, it has been the way of the world. But even so, God gives us a way out of the misery. Be Joyful! Rejoice Always! Now, this doesn't mean you will never cry. If you heart is soft for God, you will cry often. You will weep when you are standing at a hospital bed praying for someone. But if you make a decision to Rejoice, then deep inside you will always have a reason to go on, a reason to get up in the morning. Your grief won't be that of a person without hope; rather you will grieve because pain and death and tragedy are very sad. But you will have hop because you will believe the truths that go along with faith in Christ. God is in control. He will make good out of every situation. What other response could we have to that kind of God but JOY?
I know I keep saying this but what a wonderful series this is. It's very easy reading but it is packed with wonderful nuggets that will last you a life time!

My sister Stephanie called today and told me she has been on a waiting list for Redemption for over a week now so she decided to check out two of her other books called One Tuesday Morning and Beyond Tuesday Morning. She said that they were so good she had them both read in 3 days. Well, since Lisa has book 5 in the Domincan with her and our library didn't have it today in stock . . I did see that they had her two other books . . it is a short 2 book series. I figure I can read these two before Lisa gets home next week.
