We're Home . . . at least for a little while :-)

Saturday night when we headed to bed . . . we were all SO TIRED. Taylor was getting his stuff together because they were headed out to Missouri at 6 am. All of sudden he said, "I forgot my Bible!" We asked him where did he forget it . . .. he said the stadium. I felt my heart drop to my feet. We had just purchased this very nice Bible for him last November. In the Bible was the date he was saved , baptized etc . . . I immediately started calling the stadium but no one answered. I went to bed with a little heavy heart. I was disappointed he lost his Bible and I know Taylor was upset too. He really needed his Bible for the 3 week internship he was going to.

Well, when I wokeup the next morning Carlos, Alexia, Jordan and Taylor had left for Missouri. I was so tired . . . The Call had really worn me out! I got out of bed and couldn't help myself but I had to take a picture of Landon and Sierra . . .they were tired too!
I decided I would start calling the stadium since they were still sleeping. I called every department that had a number but no one answered. I left so many messages but I knew that someone would call me back. I needed to be on the road by 10 am and it was around 8 am when I started calling.

Well, I didn't have any luck so I started getting ready to leave and got the kids up and dressed. Once we left the hotel I decided to drive by the stadium and see if anyone was there. I knew the people that put on The Call would be there sometime on Sunday because they were doing praise and worship outside the stadium from 2 - 10 pm that day. We got to the stadium and I drove all the way around it . .. we didn't see anyone. I decided to drive around it again . . .this time I saw a girl walking from the parking lot. I stopped and asked her if there was a security guard . . she pointed me in the direction of where he was. I parked the car and the kids and I headed down the ramp to security. I explained to him what had happened. He called another security guard . . .the other guard said they had found some Bible's and that she would come down to see me. She came down to where we were and said that the Bible's were burgandy . . Taylor's had a black leather cover with his name engraved in gold lettering on the front. She told the kids and I to hop in her golf cart and she said that we could go look at another place. When we got to Will Call . . she went in to look. I immediately started praying that we would find that Bible . . .the kids started laughing at me a little bit because I was REALLY praying hard. I told them stop laughing and start praying :-) Well, she came out with no Bible but she did bring us two bottles of water.

I started to lose hope a little bit. I then asked her if she would go inside and go to where they were standing. Thankfully, they had stood right in front of the stage the whole time. She agreed and said that there was one other place she would check too. She took me back to the first security guard and we waited for about 10 minutes. Then she called on the walkie talkie and said she had found it. I threw my hands up in the air and said, "Thank you Jesus!!!" As I was basking in the joy . . . I turned to see about 15 young adults standing behind me. One of the guys asked if I had just won the lottery :-) . . .I said no and then told him the story. He asked where we were from and I told him . . I then asked him and he said Kansas City . . .that he was a from IHOP (International House of Prayer) I couldn't believe it . . .I explained to him that Taylor was on his way there with Carlos and the other two kids. I then asked him when he was going back . . he said he was leaving that night. I then asked him if he would mind if he would take the Bible to Taylor for me. Also, Carlos had forgotten his phone charger so he agreed to take that too. I was so happy . . . first we found the Bible and then right behind me was someone who was going to the same place that Carlos and the kids were going too. I called Carlos right away and then talked to Taylor and told him what happened. He couldn't believe I had found it and then found someone to bring it to him! What a good God we serve!

We arrived home Sunday night around 10:30 . . . boy was I tired . . .we all slept until 10:30 am today. I had to meet Lisa up at the church to clean . We cleaned today because she, Ken and the kids were leaving for the beach tomorrow and won't be home for about a week. Also, Landon, Sierra and I leave Wednesday for Vancouver . . .we are meeting Carlos out there . . . we come home the same day that Lisa does. While we were at the office Kaitlyn was fitted for her flower girl dress that she is going to where in a wedding a in a few weeks. She looked beautiful! We are suppose to be going to the same wedding but won't be able to because we will be in New York. I am so glad I was able to see her in her dress . . . she is so cute!
My inlaws watched the kids for me while I cleaned today. When I got home I went to pick them up. Landon wanted to stay for a while longer so Sierra and I went out to eat at the new Chili's that just opened up recently. It was nice spending some one on one time with her. After we finished we headed to Wal-mart and Target and then back to pickup Landon. Also, I had to stop at Ken and Lisa's for a little bit. Tomorrow I need to finish laundry and repack for our trip on Wednesday. Have a great day!

GREAT news on finding the bible and SOMEONE to deliver it! You are certainly packing a lot of varied activities into your summer!

I was so excited about finding that bible. It made a great finish to a wonderful trip! And you are right about varied activities. Some summers we do virtually NOTHING and some summers we are running around like a chicken with its head cutoff :-) We are busy but we are having a blast with every place we visit!

Emily - how absolutely delightful to read about God's answer to your prayers. So glad someone found the Bible and that God provided another person to return it.

Did it indeed make it home safely?

Kathy - yes it did make it back. Carlos met the guy at the coffee shop at the International House of Prayer on Tuesday and retrieved everything! God is good!
