Friday's Activities - Part 2
After lunch Ksusha said that she and a few of the girls had found a cool swimming place in another part of the river. So, I ran back to the cabin to get my suit on. We then went on a hike that led us to a side of a cliff where this sign was. When I read the sign I started to get a little nervous. I began to think . . . what am I getting myself into!LOL
I took a look over the cliff and saw this long staircase. Then all the girls started down towards the beach.
Vera and I making our way down the stairs.
The six 20 year old girls headed right into the water. The water was freezing
but those crazy Russian girls didn't care :-) They were swimming and splashing around like it was 80's degrees in there.
Vera and I . . . .the 40 year olds :-) decided to stay on the beach and let the young girls freeze . . .that was until
all the girls started calling for me to come out into the water. Vera was smart and decided to get some sun . . . I then headed into the water. I couldn't believe how cold it was. I am use to living in Florida where the water temps are close to 80 degrees.
With alot of coaxing and pleading from the girls I finally got in. Brrrrrrrrrrr!
The Crazy Greek and The Crazy Russian goofing around!
We then swam down the river. We went pretty far and then decided to turn around. Little did we know how strong the current was . . .we then had to maneuver to the shoreline . . . that was difficult because as you got closer to shore we came upon many rocks. Then once we made it on to shore . . .we about burned our feet off from the hot sand. I never laughed and screamed so much in my life.
We then made it back to Vera . . . she decided to get wet so we snapped a few pictures.

Then we decided to head back to camp.

What an adventure that was! Even though I was reluctant to get in the cold water I am so glad I did. Thanks Susha and the rest of the girls for cheering me on! I had a blast!

BRRR... I bet that was cold! See.. now you know why we think swimming in FL's ocean water is just fine in the winter!
It was FREEZING! I am a wimp to begin with so it took all I had to get in that water. I am glad I did though . . .it was a fun memory I won't ever forget!
