Sierra - Terrific Kid Award
We received a letter last week from Sierra's school that she was chosen by her teacher to be Terrific Kid for the month of May. Today was the award ceremony. Carlos couldn't attend because he, Ken and Jordan flew out early this morning to Missouri. Here she is with the schools vice principal getting her award! She is reading a note from Sierra's teacher which said:
"Sierra is truly a terrific kid! She is enthusiastic about learning new things. Sierra is respectful to her teacher and to the other students. She is very thoughtful and friendly with everyone around her. Sierra is truly a terrific kid. It is a joy to have her in my class!"
AFter the ceremony they had refreshments for everyone.
I am a proud parent of a Terrific Kid :-)

What an honor! But, you already KNEW she was a terrific kid. Glad the others have recognized that as well.

Hooray for Sierra! I love that award. What a great idea for affirming and encouraging the kids. Her smile (as I always say) is the BEST!. :)

Oh that is wonderful, Emily.She must have been so excitied.
I wish there was some way to acknowldge our kids publically like that as homeschoolers, but the opportunities just aren't there.

Dorothy - what about a homeschool co-op . . .are there groups over there where you all could recoginize the kids with different awards?
