Update on Mammogram and another Prayer Request
I totally forgot to post what happened at my appt. on Tuesday.
First of all, a HUGE thanks to all of you for praying. My nerves always try to get the best of me with this type of thing.
That morning when I was getting ready to leave I noticed that my prescription for the mammogram didn't say mammogram . . .it said ultrasound on right breast - follow up. So, I called on my way and told them to please check my report to see if I really needed a mammogram or not. Come to find out . . .I was only getting an ultrasound. I guess they found something last summer and wanted to recheck it.
When I walked into the room, the tech asked if I could feel any lumps. I told her no. She then proceeded to to the sonogram. I immediately knew she had found something. I said,"I see you are finding stuff." She said I had a lot of little cysts. I said to her, "Will I know today if anything bad is found?" She said, "No, but I will tell you if I find anything." I immediately started to tear up and a tear ran down my cheek. I told her, "Sorry for getting so emotional!" So, at the end she said I had a lot of little cysts but NONE of them were bad ones from what she could see. PTL!!!!!!!!
The report will be given on Monday to my doctor. Thanks so much for your prayers. I did feel a sweet peace while I was there.
Today I am asking for prayer for my brother in law Reese. This is my husband's brother and Selena's father. For the last 20 years or so he has been battling with drug and alcohol addictions and anger problems. He has been in and out of jail throughout the years.
Back on January 1st he was put back in jail for a violation of probation. This morning is his trial. It will be determined today what will be in his immediate future. It could be prison or rehab. If you feel led this morning, please pray for Reese. Pray that he will hear from the Lord. That the blinders that are on his eyes and ears be removed. The family has tried to help him time after time but now I think only the Lord can bring about the right change in his life.
Deep down inside is a very loving, sweet man. The addictions that control his life unable the true Reese to shine through. I pray for him today along with my niece and his little girl Selena. I also pray for Selena's mom who was ordered to court today to. I pray you give her peace about this whole situation. I pray you protect everyone involved and that in the end . . . the Lord will be magnified!
Also, pray that Reese and Deanna become the parents that they need to be to raise Selena!
Selena's mom Deanna and her grandmother Della are both at the trial this morning. I have Selena here with me. I will update you all later today when they pick her up! Thanks so much for your prayers!
Della and Deanna called and they said he was found guilty. I am on my way to have lunch with them now. I will write more later.
UPDATE ON THE UPDATE:
Deanna was called as a witness and she said she tried hard to convince the state attorney to please suggest a court ordered rehab - she agreed too. Reese wanted it to go to trial so it did. The judge also said that it would just be a wasted space to send Reese to rehab if he doesn't want to go.
After all the witnesses the judge found him guility. He will have to go to prison for a little over 2 months. Please pray for Reese. Pray that he will have a life changing experience while he is in the facility. Pray that God would send him someone that can make an impact on his life.
Thanks for your prayers and continued prayers!

What a cutie! But, her eyes look so sad to me in that last picture.
Will be praying for her dad...
That might be kind of prophetic . . .she had a hard beginning . . and still isn't living with her mom or dad yet. Thankfully she has a wonderful grandmother and grandfather that are taking care of her.
Her mom is trying! She wants help too! She is going to go in a rehab in a few days!
Thanks for the update. I'm sooooo happy to hear the good report. And everytime I see a pic of your niece my heart melts. She is so precious. So fragile and sweet looking. I'll be praying for that situation too.
Sherri
p.s. I wrote you an e-mail the other day..do you ever go on there anymore???
Thanks so much for praying Sherri. She melts my heart too!
Also, I am soooo behind in my email. I am going to try to go through them today!
Praying for your brother in law! What a hard situation. It must just eat up your husband to see his brother (and familiy) suffer like this.
Emily,
I'm only just catching up with your blog. Firstly, I'm praying that the mammogram stuff is all sorted and you will be really healthy.
Then I'm thanking God that Selena has you and Carlos in her life.
Then I'm asking God to touch her parents' lives so they will know Him and turn their lives around.
Blessings,
Dorothy
Thanks Kathy and Dorothy for your prayers! Every prayer that goes up for this situation is important and the family is so thankful!
Ah, Emily, this sweet little girl. . . . I am praying for her, for her parents, and extended family.
Thanks so much Kristine!
Praying for Reese, Deanna & Selena. It's sad to see the wee ones suffering so. You can see it in her eyes.
Email me and let me know where Reese will be at. Our church has a prison ministry.
