Tough Love
Tough Love
David wrote a psalm which describes the person who loves both God and his neighbor. It also speaks pointedly of friendship. Psalm 15 summarizes the characteristics of the true friend.
Friends “speak the truth from their heart [and] do not slander with their tongue.”
Friends “do no evil to their friends, nor take up a reproach against their neighbors.”
Friends “stand by their oath even to their hurt.”
Friends “do not lend money at interest.”
Friendship is love expressed in acceptance and commitment. It is acceptance of another person and commitment to another person regardless of the consequences. Friendship is not a flippant relationship. It is consistent and unfailing love. It is being there when you’re needed and making no excuses. To be a true friend is to be a person someone can count on.

A while ago, I was confronted with a situation. Someone told me something about a friend.
She had "shared" my friend's dilemma as a "prayer request". I asked her if she had spoken to my friend about it. She told me no. I asked her why. She didn't haven an answer. I prayed about what to do. I couldn't sleep for days.
I spoke to my friend. She was thankful I had spoken to her. I was concerned that I would lose her friendship, but it strengthened our relationship. She know that she can count on me. It was hard for me, but I felt led to talk to her.
I'm thankful for the friendship she and I have. We've known each other for over 13 years. I'm really blessed.
True friendship will last forever. There is something about being able to communicate, tell the truth and then to be their for the friend!
I am so glad your friendship is still strong.
Giselle, can you believe we have been friends for almost 19 years . . .isn't that unbelievable!!!
We truly have a unique friendship. Not many have our kind of frienship. We are very blessed.
Just the other day Melina and I were talking about that. She was sharing with me, some of her memories of her friendship with Jordan. They use to have so much in common.
