Selena's Special Day
Yesterday I talked to Della and asked if I could have Selena today since I couldn't get her on her birthday since Sierra was sick. I picked her up this morning and we headed out to have some fun. Some friends of mine called this morning and wanted to see if we wanted to get together. So, we headed into town to meet them. We got there first so we hung outside for awhile. She saw my camera in my purse and said, "Aunt Emmy's camera!!!!" So, I snapped a few pictures. This one I used the self timer . . . but I cut my head off!
My friends Vanessa, Jolynn and her son Ethan ended up showing up soon after so we headed inside for lunch. Vanessa's husband Raul was one of our associate pastors for 6 years. They ended up moving on to a new church in 2006. It was good to catch up with them!
This is Jolynn and her son Ethan. Jolynn and her husband David were actually youth in our youth group YEARS ago when we youth pastored. They were at our church for 6 years too but also left to go to the same church that Raul and Vanessa attend.
Selena was happy to make a new friend!
After we had lunch we headed to the mall and to ROSS to look for a wedding present for some friends who are getting married this weekend. We then came home so we could wait for the kids to come home and also to wait for Lisa and the kids. We are going to try to go to the park and get ice cream to celebrate Selena's birthday with them!
It's hard to get a 2 year old to look at the camera! One time . . .
Got it!! By this time she was over the camera! :-) Selena's birthday party is on the 17th so we are going to give her her BIG present then. We wanted to give her a few things today so we got her a few Dora toys and a new dress!
We are now waiting for Lisa and the kids! While we were waiting Sierra and Selena played on the front porch.
Oops - Sierra caught that Selena's shoe was untied. Then it was a game of Ring Around The Rosie!and they all fall down!

I love the pictures of Selena and Sierra together. So precious! It's sweet watching Sierra 'take care' of Selena. Look what a big helper she is.
Kathy - it's funny you say that because when we were on the way home to take Selena home Sierra said, "Mom, I want a baby sister or brother!" I wasn't sure what to say but I told her I think I was getting too old to have another baby. Thankfully she didn't say anything else!
I was thinking LAST NIGHT about Selena...what a treat to come on today and see some great pictures of her. I especially love the 3 step series where she seems a bit exasperated but if finally looking at the camera...and of course the ones of her and Sierra are priceless.
Thanks for your prayers for De'Etta! It means the world to me that you are lifting her up in prayer!
