Pregnancy Photo's Blessing # 2 - Alexia

When Jordan was 14 months old we found out we were expecting baby #2. We were so excited and couldn't wait for the arrival of our second blessing. Here I am with Jordan about 4 months pregnant. Here we are at Disney and I am about 7 1/2 months pregnant.
Easter Sunday about 8 months pregnant. Here we are at Sea World when I was about 36 weeks . . we wanted a special day with Jordan before the baby made her arrival.
On May 9th, 1990 I woke up and went to bathroom. I know this is going to sound gross but it's the truth . . as I was sitting on the toilet peeing . . the pee wouldn't stop. I yelled out to Carlos . . "Either my water broke or my bladder did Scared 2 " I went ahead and took a shower and then we got ready to head to the hospital. Thank goodness my mom and grandma had already arrived at our house. Here I am with Jordan getting ready to leave for the hospital.

As I stood up to say goodbye I ended up getting another contraction. All of a sudden the memory of the pain of my first labor came back to haunt me. The whole way to the hospital the pain grew worse.Upon arriving at the checkin . . .my doctor happened to be right there. He looked over and saw me crying and he said, "What's wrong?" I said, "I want an EPIDURAL!!!!!!!!!!!!" He said, "No problem." He then told the nurse to get me checked in and to get me the epidural as soon as possible! Once checked in the nurse advised me that I should walk for a little bit before getting the epidural. This time walking was much more difficult than walking when I had Jordan. It was hard because my water kept coming out as I walked. I just wanted to get back to my room. Here I am having a hard contraction in the hospital walkway. I am not sure who took the picture but they cut off Carlos head. :-) Ahhhhhhhhhh . . .the pain stops for just a few minutes. We found that same water fall picture that I had a picture with when in labor with Jordan.
I am now a happy camper. Bounce The epidural had been given and I was pain free. That is the only way to have baby! I remember going through hard labor and we were watching Regis and Kathie Lee.

Alexia Nicole was born weighing in at 7 pounds 7 ounces and 20 inches long. Baby

Wonderful pictures that really tell the story. LOL about Regis. I'm pretty sure I gave birth to Oprah in the background one time. I was thinking why didn't someone switch off the tv when things started getting intense, I certainly couldn't!

The labor experience was so different from baby number one to number two . . .I definitly enjoyed the whole labor experience more the second time around than the first . . . !!!

Emily--you both look SO YOUNG! How old were you? I'm sure you mentioned your ages in your wedding blog but I can't remember.

Yay for epidurals!!

Look how gorgeous you were the entire pregnancy and coming home from the hospital. Wow! Did you gain ANY weight? :)

Kathy - I got married at 22 and Carlos was 25. I had Jordan at 23 and Alexia at 25 :-)

As far as weight gain . . I gained 25 with Jordan and 21 with Alexia. The weight with Alexia came off very fast . . I am not sure why though.

As I always say - thank the good Lord for the person who invented the epidural :-)

Emily, what I love about these pics is how **80s** they are, with your big hair, Carlos's lime green shirt and all.

Epidural, yep. Between two births, I had a total of one contraction, and that one was enough (as wimpy as I'm quite sure it was). Except that I gained more with ONE baby than you did with two!

Kristine, I look back at what we wore in the 80's and I am almost embarrassed . . :-) I think now . . .what in world were we thinking :-)
