Happy Valentine's Day!
This morning I wokeup around 6:30 am . . . that never happens but I think because I fell asleep at 9:00 pm last night my body wokeup early. It was really a blessing that I woke up that early because I needed to get our Annual Valentine Breakfast ready to go. I went downstairs and set the table - tied the balloons on the chairs and brought the kids Valentine baskets out and set them each at their spot at the table. As I was getting stuff ready I saw Carlos getting ready to leave for work. I said, "Where are you going?" He said, "I have a prayer meeting at church.". I was immediatly bummed. I started to have stinkin thinkin thoughts . . . I started thinking . . I can't believe he is not going to have breakfast with us like we do each year BUT then I thought . . .. Emily, he is going to pray . . how can you be upset at that. I then cheered myself up a little bit . . I was still disappointed that he was leaving but I didn't want to ruin it for the kids. After setting everything up I went to wake all the kids up.
For the last 18 years I have had a Valentine breakfast for my family. Also, I found these cute heart baskets that I fill with goodies for each child. They are filled with a shirt or two, gift card, their favorite gum etc. . .
Since Carlos and I decided not to exchange gifts (because of the farm we are purchasing behind us - that's our gift to each other :-) I did find this cute GUND Teddy Bear that says I LOVE YOU to set at his seat!
Another tradition I do each year is make "red" heart pancakes for breakfast. This year I also served sliced strawberries with it because they are red and they were so sweet and good!
I had to wakeup Jordan so he could eat with us.
Sierra received this cute outfit in her basket. She decided it was perfect to wear to school today since they were having a Valentine's Day Party.
After getting all the kids to school and after Jordan left for work I finally made it upstairs to my room. I was surprised to see the following on our bed.
I then walked into the bathroom to wash my face and brush my teeth and I found this card at my sink.
So, even though he wasn't able to stay for our annual Valentine Breakfast, he did remember me with this sweet basket, candy dish and bear and a lovely card with very sweet romantic words in it. I need to run because Lisa will be here to pick me up any minute. We are going to run to her new house and check out their driveway. The guys are there working on it now - plus the carpet was finished last night. She did get great news that they will be moving in a week from this Saturday!!! Hooray!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I hope and pray you all have the best Valentine's Day!

I want to live at YOUR house! Ya'll have so much fun. We do Valentine's Day by taking the kids to the store to pick out a toy, necklace, headband, or whatever they want. DD1 was working and couldn't go with us so I bought her an itunes card and left it at her office. FUN TABLE decorations!
Thanks Cindy! I credit much of "our fun" to my mom. She always made each holiday so special.
WOW - you do ALL your holidays wonderfully! I'm impressed. It looks like a very fun day.
Thanks De'Etta! We had a fun day!
Your Valentine baskets crack me up. I was desperately shopping at the last minute for my kids on Tuesday night, wondering what in the world can I possibly buy them, because they have everything. I KNOW you have a hard time finding things for your kids too!
The pancakes are adorable!
