Landon's Love For Reading
Landon has become an avid reader. He is the first of our five kids who has aquired a love for reading. He came to me last night and asked if we could do an internet search of an author of a book series he is currently reading. We did a search and found she had a website. He emailed her a letter today. He wanted her to know how much he loved her books and also even gave her a suggestion for a future book :-) I am so glad that one of my kids having the reading bug. Carlos and I love to read and we were waiting to see if any of our kids would catch it too. Here is with the book he is currently reading by author Jeanne DuPrau.

Hooray for Landon!!! It's so wonderful to see your children develop a love for reading. My mom talks about spending hours at the library, picking out books for us kids (and she was NOT a homeschooler). I'll have to check out the author he's currently reading.
Landon came home from school today and asked if she had emailed back yet . . he was disappointed when I said no. I told him to have patience and that it might take a week or two to hear a response. I am just so excited that the reading but has bit him. :-)
I can so relate, reading is IT for me. I love it so much. None of my kids has that love for reading yet. Hayley likes it but likes so many other things as much, Trevor doesn't at all, reads for info only. Colin is so- so and Tristan is just learning to read...maybe he will be the one!
I was about ready to give up because my first three definitly do not have "the love" for reading. Thank goodness number 4 caught the fire. Sierra - number 5- I think is catching too. She is in 1st grade but at a 3 rd grade reading level and seems to really enjoy it so far.
