Hitting the trails!

This morning I got up around 6:30 am and put on my riding boots and headed to the barn. Every Friday during the fall, winter and spring months I go horsebackriding with a handful of friends. Here I am with Farley and Cloud. We trailered over to Pam's house. She has great trails and riding areas right out her back pasture.
Pam has five horses - here is Gracie and I can't remember the other one. Katie is in the the next picture.
Here is everyone except me - I handed my reins over to LeAnna while I jumped off to open the gate and to take this picture.

What a beautiful day it was - a perfect riding day!

Horse and Rider

The prairie blows the grasses and whips the horse’s mane. They travel, horse and rider, through the sea of amber grain. Hills roll by, and clouds pass but steady are the horse’s hooves upon the wind blown grass. As they travel, horse and rider there is no trail that they follow. No path that can be seen. There they travel, horse and rider upon the endless blowing green.

Your horse is beautiful! My dd would be so happy to have a horse. We had her in lessons last spring but it got too hot to continue and this season has really gotten away from us. Maybe we'll continue after the baby gets here. Looks like a really nice way to spend the day.

Emily,
That looks like SO MUCH FUN. I'm looking forward (sort of anyway) to the day when I'm done homeschooling and can have some time to do the things I used to enjoy doing.

Hi girls! We had the best time and the weather was so beautiful!! I really enjoy riding my horse - there is such freedom when riding and also such a great appreciation for the wonderful creation the Lord created!
