Thanks To My Yia Yia!

I am half Greek. My grandparents on my father's side were both born in Greece. My grandfather went to heaven first and this past year my grandmother went to heaven. She ended up leaving each grandchild a little inheritance. I have been hanging on to the money not knowing what to do with it. Well, I finally decided that are flooring needed some updating so I had the carpet taken out of our dining room and our front music room and had wood put in which was the same as in the rest of the first floor. I was lucky to find it because we built this house seven years ago and I didn't know if BRUCE still made the same color or not.

I am so happy to have the carpet gone. Here is picture of the dining room now with wood floors.

My friend Brenda gave me some accesories and lamps. This vase and dried flower came from her. This is the music room . . . here is a picture with the carpet now gone. There was a wall and pocket doors separating the family room from the music room but I never really like the way it turned out so I had the guy take down the doors and most of the wall to open everything up. It made a huge difference.Another accessory from Brenda! She also gave me two floor lamps.

I hope to paint the interor of the house next and also to change the carpet upstairs but I am not sure if I have enough cash to complete it. :-) A big thank you to Yia Yia (Greek for Grandmother) for blessing us with the money! I wish she was here to see it!

What a lovely change. I keep hoping to take the carpet out of our living room and dining room, but the boys don't think they'd like playing on a hardwood floor (LOL) so I may have to wait a few more years.
