To Miami and Back

This morning I wokeup at 6:30 so I could be out the door by 7:30 to head to Miami to pickup Alexia and my niece Ashley from their cruise. My sister and brother and law had to go right to the Miami airport to catch their flight back to Indiana. Ashley flies back to college tomorrow from our airport.

I ended up having to drive down to Miami by myself. I had not been to Miami since the mid-80's so I was very unfamiliar with the roads. I had my computer with me and used Mapquest but somehow I got turned around and got lost. I got a little nervous because the turn I made didn't turn me into a very safe area so I just pulled over and prayed for a policeman to showup. I then looked behind me and I saw a squad car coming up the road. I rolled down my window and waved him down. Thankfully he got me turned around and directed me right to the Port of Miami.

The famous Biscayne Blvd
I was so flustered from getting lost that I didn't even take any pictures of the the ship. I didn't realize it until I was getting back on the highway. I was very excited to see Alexia and Ashley. I am so glad we have an extra day with Ashley before she has to head back to college. We stopped for lunch once we were out of Miami and then headed home.
When we arrived at the house Carlos had already started a leaders meeting with our Core Leaders here at the house. We meet with our Core Leaders from 4-6 and then our House of Prayer intercessors, musicians and singers from 6-8 a few times a month.

Sierra and Ashley watched a movie before she went to bed.
When I got ready to tuck her in she said, "Mom, I have a surprise for you." I asked her what it was. She said, "Ronnie taught me how to play guitar." I was pretty impressed . . she played a beautiful worship song. (Ronnie is one of our fire in the night intercessors at the house of prayer)
Good job Sierra!Landon had his best friend Keith over to play. He ended up just staying the night tonight.
After the meetings Meraly's daughter Vienna practiced singing and playing keyboard with me for awhile. It is so nice to practice with someone . . .it really helps me a lot. We are going to try to get together a few times a month to work on things. Thanks Vienna!

Well, that is all for now. Carlos and I were going to go to the movies but decided to rent one and stay home instead.

If I would've known you were coming to Miami I would've gone with you to the port since I'm pretty familiar with how to get there. Michael and I live north of Fort Lauderdale. That area near the Port is very very scarey - I never go alone. I'm glad you found a police officer. If you ever have to come down again - especially if you're by yourself give me a call and I'll go with you. Love, Lil

We always take our GPS! I couldn't imagine traveling without it anymore.
