Youth Encounter Weekend
At our church we have "Adult and Youth" Encounter weekends. This weekend was another youth encounter. It was the largest group of young people we have had in the history of youth enounters for our church.
What is an ENCOUNTER WEEKEND ?
Encounter Retreats are for anyone who is;
• Seeking a deeper relationship with God!• Seeking freedom from past hurts and damaging life patterns!• Seeking to live a deeper Christ-centered lifestyle!
Participants are invited to spend a weekend (Friday evening through Sunday afternoon) in discovery of God and His purposes for each life. The weekend is designed to be exciting, refreshing and most importantly - life changing!
Simply defined: An encounter retreat is a special opportunity for you to encounter God and experience a life changing relationship with Jesus Christ!
Whether a person is attending an Encounter as a new believer or as a mature Christian seeking more intimacy with God, the Encounter Retreat is an important investment in your relationship with God. Many who have participated in this special weekend have described it as, the most important weekend of my life!
An Encounter is a weekend designed for you to encounter Jesus. A weekend of Bible based teachings centered on the message of the Cross. You have time to reflect and evaluate your relationship with Jesus without having any distraction, while finding purpose and destiny for your future. Some of the topics that might be covered during the Encounter are:
Prodigal Son Story
The Cross and Repentance
Godly Sexuality
Inner Healing/Forgiveness
Breaking Generational Curses
Closing Open Doors
Baptism of the Holy Spirit
The Vision-Win, Connect, Disciple, Send
After church Carlos had a 1pm meeting with our 7 core leaders of our church so I took the kids to lunch and then dropped off the boys at a friends house and Sierra and I headed back to the church for a 3 pm meeting with all our leaders, staff and volunteer staff. She was such a good girl . .I brought my computer and she sat quietly next to me during the meeting playing on the Webkinz website.
Later on this evening my wonderful husband took me out for a nice dinner. It was the perfect way to end a perfect weekend.
This next week is going to be a BUSY one. On Friday Jordan and 9 other of his classmates are flying in and will be staying with us for 9 days. We are so excited to be hosting ALL OF THEM. I will be housing the girls upstairs and the boys downstairs. They are all coming in for The Call Orlando. Also, this Sunday Mike Bickle will be dedicating our new church/house of prayer building and Jordan and the students will be leading us in praise and worship. Jordan is bringing some incredible musicians and singers . . it's going to be awesome. Then all the next week the group of 10 will be helping us out for the week at our House of Prayer. It's going to be an exciting time for all of us.
I am going to be cleaning up our house, stocking up the pantry and fridge with food and preparing places for them to sleep. We can't wait for their arrival on Friday night!

Emily, How exciting!
Do you ever wonder how on earth you used to have the time to fit in homeschooling 5 kids???? Your life seems so full!
That sounds like such fun! Our daughter served at a mission in Del Rio for a year and a half. Our second daughter spent a summer there. They met some really neat young people. Two of the guys from Missouri came and spent two weeks with us summer before last. It was great serving them (mainly making lots of ice tea and having the fridge stocked with juice)and I really hated to see them leave.
We have always had lots of young people here because of our kids and I love it!
What an amazing time! We'll be praying for all of you so that you have a fun and safe week glorifying God!
