My Birthday Day and Two Prayer Requests

Today I had a great time. I did start the day by working on laundry . . . then I decided to go out to the back pasture and enjoy my horse for a little bit. A little bit turned into two hours :-)

I then came back in and took a shower so I would be ready to go out tonight for my birthday with Carlos and the kids. We normally go out with Ken and Lisa too but Ken's brother and family is in town so they had dinner with them tonight. I did talk with my sisters, Jordan and my parents on the phone today. My wonderful brother in law Todd and my little other brother Ken left me sweet messages too.

Please pray for my dad . . . he had knee surgery today. The surgery went good but please pray that he recovers quickly and is not in too much pain. Thanks! Also, my sisters lives up in Indiana. They are having horrible flooding. My sister Steph asked me to please pray for a friend of hers. Her nephew's wife was driving with their five children. They ended up coming upon a flooded area. The car stalled and because of the high winds and water pressure the car started to move and ended up moving into 7 feet waters. She tried her best to get all the children out but two of them didn't make it. They are all devastated . . .please pray for this entire family especially the mom who is probably never ever going to forget this day. Pray that the comfort and peace of the Lord will surround them!!!

Today was an early day for school so I went to pick the kids up and then we went back to the pasture and messed around with the horses again. By the time we were done Carlos was home and we needed to get cleaned up again. We then headed to Chili's for a wonderful time together. The best present I could receive today was spending time with my kids and my husband. I thank God each and every day for them!

Also, my best friend Lisa sent me the most adorable e-card. You can see it at this address:

Happy Birthday! Mine is on Friday! I love having a birthday so soon after Christmas. It's nice to have something to look forward to.
The picture of you and your kids at Chili's is great!
I'm praying your dad has a quick recovery and is able to get back to normal very soon. My heart aches for the family that lost 2 children in the flood. They are in my prayers as well.

Emily, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!

I haven't been paying too close attention to the news. What a tragedy.

We are big Chili's fans here too. The nearest Chili's is an hour away, and we've only been once since moving here. Robert's sister/bil will be here in a few months, and we've already agreed to go to Chili's. They don't have one where they live either, and his sister loves it too. (Dh and I were hoping for Texas Roadhouse, but we've been outvoted, lol.)

Happy Birthday, Emily!

I read about that mom and her children. I cannot imagine the grief she must be feeling. May God give her comfort.
