Mamaw To The Rescue

Every Monday night I attend Bible School with Lisa and Alexia (and many others :-) Usually Taylor babysits while we are all at school. Well, tonight since Taylor is in Missouri with Jordan I had to call Carlos's grandmother to see if she could watch Landon and Sierra while we go to school. So, I got the kids fed, bathed and homework done and then went over to pick her up to bring her back to the house. All she would have to do is to put them to bed.

When I got home from Bible School and from taking home his grandmother Landon mentioned to me that Sierra cried while I was gone. I asked him what she had cried about and he said she kept crying because she missed me. He said he tried to comfort her and it didn't work she just kept crying. Carlos's grandmother speaks only Spanish so Landon knew she would not be able to really help in this situation so he called my mom. I guess she spent time on the phone with her praying, singing songs to her and just trying to comfort her. Landon said she talked to her for maybe 30 minutes and then he heard things go quiet. I told Landon to go ahead and get to bed. Since Taylor has been gone he has been sleeping in Sierra's room in the extra bed. When he went in to go to sleep he ran back to my room and said mom . .. you have to see this. So, I went in to see what was happening. And this is what I saw:

Sierra fast asleep with the phone to her ear. My mom must have talked, prayed and sang to her until she fell asleep. The phone was still on when we went to take it from her hand.
So mom, if you are reading this . . .thank you so much for comforting her and helping her get to sleep! Even from two and a half hours away you still have the magic touch! Love you!
