Kent Henry was in the "House"
We were so excited for this past weekend. Kent Henry, whom we have known for years, came in for the weekend to speak at our church on Sunday morning and evening. If you are not sure who Kent Henry is here is some info on him:
For over twenty-five years, Kent Henry’s ministry has been totally devoted to worship leading and training. He has led worship on six of Integrity Music’s Hosanna! recordings, including: My Refuge, The Secret Place, and So Close to You. He has also produced 22 of his own worship recordings, including: Awesome in This Place, The Psalmist Trilogy, Jeremiah 29:11, Children Worship!, The Psalm Series and Dance in the Glory.
Kent holds B.A. degrees in Music, Religion and Management from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri. For the past twenty years Kent has been traveling and ministering through "The Worship Seminar" and "Fresh Fire" meetings to thousands of worshiping believers around the world.
Kent’s passion is to see true worship blanket the nations. For years, Kent has helped to facilitate prayer with praise, and intercession with worship. He believes that a major facet of his calling is to help release and launch the next generation of worshipers in their callings and destiny in Jesus. He has been referred to as an "apostolic psalmist."
Kent, his wife Carla, and their three children reside in St. Louis, Missouri.
Kent Henry has ministered to so many of the wonderful young people we work with at OHOP and other's in the past we have worked with. Pictured here is Jolynne . . she and her husband David, along with Lisa, Joe and many others who were in our youth group MANY years ago LOL . .were strongly impacted by Kent's ministry. He has made such an impact on my family when it comes to worship. I remember when the kids were all very young, we would get together on the floor and put on one of Kent's CD's and just worship God for an hour. I remember one time the presence of the Lord was so sweet . . . I had tears of joy that just kept flowing out of me. Kent has made a huge impact on Carlos too . . he and Keith Green were the two most influential worshippers that helped transform Carlos' love of true worship.During the morning service he led us in worship and then brought us the most incredible word on the names of God. I will blog about that later. It was such an awesome study I asked him for all of his notes :-) After the morning service we went out to lunch with Kent, Tomas (who played keys for Kent today and he also is the State of Florida coordinator of the National Day of Prayer.)
Around 4:00 pm we headed back to the church so Kent and the praise team could practice for tonight. I decided to sit in on the practice so I went and sat by Tomas while he was playing the keys. Kent happen to see me sitting there. He asked me if I played and I said yes. So, out of the blue he asked me if I wanted to play backup keys for the service. Oh my gosh . . I was so excited. I was so honored he gave me the chance to be part of the music team that night.
We had an awesome time of worship . . there was such a sweet annointing that filled the room.
Before Kent brought forth the word he brought Lisa over to him . . .he then spoke the most incredible word over her concerning her singing and how the Lord was going to use her. She broke down crying and then he asked me to go and stand with her . . .we both just started breaking down crying. I am so proud of Lisa and how incredibly excellent she is doing as worship director for OHOP. What a talented gift from God she is. I love you Lisa and I am so excited to see what the future holds for you. I can't wait for your first CD to come out :-)Kent, I want to thank you so much for taking time out of your busy schedule to come and be with us this past weekend. The worship and the Word you brought to our church was so timely and needed. I absolutely loved the morning message you brought forth on the names of the Lord. I can't wait to dive further into it.
Also, thank you so much for allowing me to play keys with you and the praise team. I am truly honored I had the chance to worship with you and the others. It was a dream come true!
We will be praying for you and your team back in St. Louis as you continue to go forth with your House of Prayer you are building in there. You ROCK!
