My Time With Mema and Hangin Out With the Gang

Friday night before Mema and I went to sleep she told me that she and her friend go walking every morning from 8:30 am to 10:00 am. I thought for sure I would wakeup no later than 9 o'clock. Well, this morning I woke and took a look at the clock on my cell phone and was totally surprised to see I had slept in until 10:45. I jumped out of bed and ran to find Mema. I told her I couldn't believe I had slept in that long. I have to admit though it felt very good to get the extra shut eye :-)

Mema made me a wonderful breakfast and then we chatted for awhile before leaving for my brother Andrews house. While we were in her guest room she showed me a pair of gloves that were on the dresser. She went on to tell me that she wore these same gloves the day she graduated from highschool 70 years ago.
I asked her to try one on so I could take a picture with her wearing one. As she took off the glove she proceeded to hand them to me. She said , "I want you to have these." I was so honored and I will probably put them in a shadow box with a picture of Mema. Thanks Mema! Also, when I was five years old she taught me how to crochet. By the time I was in the second grade I was making afghans. I asked her if she had any afghans left that she had made. She went and pulled one out for me and told me to take it home too. Thanks again Mema! I will cherish each item! We then headed to Andrew and Heidi's house. Dad, Mom, Steph and the boys had headed over there too.
I really wish we all lived closer. I can't stand it that my two sisters live 1100 miles away. I am thankful that my Andrew, Heidi and the girls, my Mema and my parents live about 2 1/2 hours away but it is still hard for us all to get together.

Steph and the boys are heading home tomorrow back to Indiana. We will either see them at Thanksgiving and/or Christmas. Taylor is going to spend the night one more night at my parents and then Steph is going to drop him off on her way back home.
Thanks Andrew and Heidi for having us all over today.
We will see my mom and dad the first week of November when they come back to our house to watch the kids while Carlos and I head out of town to a speaking engagment that he has in Vancouver,WA and Los Angeles.
I will miss you so much Steph. Thanks so much for all the decorating tips you gave me for the house. I am really going to get movitated and start implementing many of the ideas that you gave me. I wish you and Michelle lived closer.
What a sport Taylor. .. coloring with your cousins. :-)
When Steph, Michelle, Andrew and I were just little kids my dad use to play this game with us. We would sit end to end on the sofa and then put our feet on each others feet and then go back and forth. I know it sounds silly but we loved it so today just on a fluke I showed Ansley how to play. She had so much fun that . . . . .
Emily Grace got in on the action too! Then the girls got rides on Mamma and Daddy's backs.Andrew and Heidi's dog Lexie seemed to look at me and say, "Ok, enough already!"
Thanks for having us over Andrew and Heidi. It was great spending the day with you guys. Love you!

Love the glove! It's wonderful.

Decorating tips? You'll have to be sure and share your tips. Also, be sure to show us where you hung the picture you got in Italy!

Cindy - she gave me some great ideas but they are going to cost $$$$. I really don't use my dining room except for holidays so she suggested knocking down one wall and making the kitchen larger OR making the dining room into a billards room. Also, she said I need to repaint a darker color and many many more things.
Also, I haven't had the picture from Italy framed yet. I need to work on that too.
