Volunteering at the School and I Love my George!

This morning Lisa and I were suppose to head to the gym but she called around 10 am saying she was too tired to go so we were going to try to go tonight after her praise and worship practice. Since we didn't workout I decided to go ahead and get dressed for the day. Sierra's teacher sent home a note yesterday asking me to help out in the class so I was kind of waiting around to see if she was going to call. Well, I heard nothing by noon so I gave her a call at the school ... she told me to come on in.

When I got there I forgot how much fun I have had the last two years volunteering in the kids classrooms. It kind of makes me feel like I am still involved in their school. Sierra's teacher is so nice and I know I am really going to enjoy being in the classroom helping out each week.

After volunteering I headed to the grocery to get some items for dinner. I decided to make chicken and steak fajita's. I picked up the items I would need and then headed home.

The kids all came home from school and thankfully . . .still no homework :-) Gotta love that first week of school!

I then went to the pantry to get George . . . .did I ever tell you that I LOVE my George . . . . . . . .

well . . my George Foreman Grilling Machine that is :-) This has to be one of the best inventions for the kitchen. I use to have the original machine and I really disliked it because it was a pain to clean . . . but then I purchased this new one. It is WONDERFUL! The grill plates come off so you can wash them or put them in the dishwasher. I handwash them because they clean up so easily.

I preheated the grill to get it ready for the fajita ingredients!
On the grill tonight I grilled chicken and then steak AND
Onions, green peppers and tomatoes brushed with olive oil. As I grilled each individual item . . when it was finished I wrapped each thing up in foil so it would stay hot while cooking the rest.I warmed up the flour tortillas and got out the sour cream and guacamole. I forgot to bring out the Mexican mix cheese.
and what is fajita's without chips and salsa :-)

Jordan . .. this picture is for you! We miss you so much and your place at the table is so lonely without you! We all love and miss you. We are always talking about you and wondering what you are doing. Family night dinners just aren't the same without you. sniff sniff
Tonight we have two visitors staying with us. Selena and her half brother Kody are spending the night tonight. Their grandparents are leaving to fly out of town early in the morning for a weekend gettaway. I am keeping Selena until tomorrow and then she will go to my inlaws. Kody will be going to his mother's and her boyfriend's apartment.

Landon was so happy to have him over!
Taylor was nice enough to give up his bed so Kody could have it!I was going to set up the Graco Travel Bed for Selena . . that is usually where she sleeps when she stays over night here . . but tonight she said she wanted to sleep with Aunt Emmy and Uncle Carlos . .so I caved in to that sweet face and that is where she is. We first read a book!
and then she said . . let's take pictures. Boy, does she like taking pictures . . .even more than me :-)
After goofing around with the camera for a few minutes I told her it was time to go to bed. She layed down and said, "Molly sleeping?" I told her yes. "Is meow meow sleeping" I told her yes. The next thing I knew she was asleep cuddled up right next to me. What a good girl she is! I love having her over!

Thanks for the review on the new style Foreman grills... I have an old one and I REALLY dislike it! Maybe I'll ask for a new one for Christmas. I better go start a list now before I forget (LOL).
