Redemption and Jordan's Humble Abode

Today was cleaning day for Lisa and I. I headed to the office around noon. After we finished we made a lunch run through Chick Fil A drive thru and then headed back to the office to do some work. I headed home around 4:30 and came home to a quiet but busy house. Everyone was kind of doing their own thing so I thought it would be a perfect opportunity for me to finish Redemption . . . . which after many tears . . .I finally finished the book. I don't want to give away anything in the book but what a wonderful author Karen Kingsbury is. Lisa finished Remember yesterday and is already on book 3 . . .she read 11 chapters last night of book 3. . .I can't remember the name of that book. As soon as I finish this blog I am going to start Remember . . I can't wait! If you wall want a wonderful Christian novel with an excellent story line . . . read this series!

Tonight everyone was in a good mood so I thought I would surprise them and made chocolate chip cookies. As many of you know I use to make them once a week but with all our traveling it has been 2 months since the cookies have been made. As the first batch were in the oven I told Carlos that I was going to run that first tray over to Ken and Lisa . . . she was sweet to make us dinner the other night the least I could do would be to bring them cookies right out of the oven. So, after the timer went off and after they cooled a few minutes . . .off I went with 2 plates of cookies. I then came home and made a second tray of cookies. Also, a big pot of coffee for us! By the end of the evening this is all that is left. (Taylor and Jordan . . .wish you were here to have some with us) We miss you both!Jordan took a bunch of pictures of place where he will be living for the next 4 years! The pictures came in a little blurry for some reason. The backporch!
The backyard.
The Garage.
The basement.
The music room
Jordan's room.
The computer room and study.

Jordan's desk where hopefully he will be studying alot!
The kitchen
His bathroom
The eating area
The family room.
Our friends Melany and Moises who are married and going to the academy are renting a room from us. We gave them the master bedroom and bath. We also found 3 other guys who are students who will be renting out the basement so Jordan won't be lonely . . .homesick maybe but not lonely :-)
Taylor we miss you too! We are looking forward to coming up to bring you home next week! It's not the same around here without you and Jordan. Miss you both and love you bunches!
I just read this note on Jordan's myspace and thought I would add it to this blog :-) Besides going to school he will be doing everything that he listed in this note :-)
HEY Family and Friends!
IT'S JORDAN. MOST OF YOU ALL KNOW I MOVED TO Missouri. I WILL BE LIVING UP HERE FOR 4 YEARS BEING A FULL TIME STUDENT AND INTERCESSOR. GOD IS REALLY TAKING ME THROUGH A SEASON OF FAITH AND HUMILITY. THE REASON WHY I AM WRITING THIS IS BECAUSE WHILE I AM UP HERE I WILL BE IN THE HOUSE OF PRAYER 24-30 HOURS OF WEEK AND IN TEACHING AND MUSICAL AND VOCAL LESSONS ANOTHER 25-30 HOURS A WEEK. WITH ALL THOSE HOURS GOING IN I WILL NOT BE HAVING TIME TO WORK TO MAKE A LIVING. IF YOU OR ANYBODY YOU KNOW MIGHT WANT TO HELP ME WITH FINANCIAL SUPPORT ON A MONTHLY BASES ( OR A ONE TIME GIFT) I WOULD GLADLY APPRECIATE IT! I WILL KEEP YOU UPDATED WITH WHAT GOD IS DOING WITH ME AND GOD WILL BLESS YOU!! PLEASE KEEP ME IN YOUR PRAYERS AS GOD TAKES ME THROUGH A SEASON IN TRUSTING HIM. THANKS GUYS AND GOD BLESS!! Emily,
Did you say you bought a house there? I'm thinking so since you said the married couple will be renting from you. Four years seems like SUCH a long time! I hope he gets to come home during all of the holidays!

Yes, we bought it with some friends of ours so actually we both own it. The married couple are both in their early 20's and our from our church. Moises and Melany have been very good friends of Jordan for a long time. They decided to go to the academy too and they needed a place to stay.

He will be coming home throughout the year. I am pretty sure he is coming home in September for the weekend. At least I think I heard that from somewhere :-)

Cindy asked my question. ::snort::

BUT I wanted to say that it looks like a very comfortable spot to land for four years.

Praying for Jodan as he begins a new adventure.

Oh - the Karen series...how would you characterize the books? What genre? Romance, historical.....

Cookies - yummm....I've been meaning to make some since we got home from our trip....we can't play in the sun today - maybe we'll make cookies.

De'Etta, this series of books are about the Baxter Family. They are a Christian family who have an amazing mom and dad. They are the backbone of the family. They have 5 grown kids . . .each books focuses on one of the kids and what they are going through . I love the way she has the Lord speak to them as they are going through their daily lives. There is a little romance in it but just enough to add to the story. The romances all center around marriages or soon to be leading into marriage. I absolutely LOVE these books! Her messages in the story lines are powerful!

Thanks for the added info about this series here in the comment section. They sound like a nice series! Now if I can find them at the libary that would be great. I'm trying really hard to not buy anymore books than absolutely necessary since our shelves are already so full.
