Organizing and Decluttering

My friend Natalie is currently in the process of buiding a new house. She had emailed me asking me if I knew of anyone she could hire who could help declutter and organize their home. I thought about it for a little while and thought . . . maybe she could hire me :-) I love to declutter and organize things and I could use the money because I am saving for new patio furniture :-) Anyways, I called her and offered my services . . .she accepted so I told her I would come over for the day today.

Due to her phone accidentally being off the hook . . .I wasn't able to get to her home until 12 noon.
After arriving at her home she walked me through her whole house. I then had to figure out where to begin. She had already started bagging stuff up to give away so I told her, "Let's first load my van with everything you have ready to give away." So, we did that . .. well, it filled my whole van. I told her I would run it to our church thrift store and would be right back. I have a philosophy that when you have stuff ready to give away . . .get it to the charity right away so it gets out of your home.

When I arrived back at her home we decided to work on one of the kids bedrooms. We went through everything except the dresser which she had already done. We had a give away bag, throw away bag and a keep bag. Just in this room alone we filled my van halfway up. After going through everything in this room and moving it out to the trash or into my van or into the garage to be stored until they moved . . .we then moved the furniture around to get more use out of the space. They are going to be putting the house for sale soon so she needs the room to show a lot of space.

Here are a few pictures of the finished room.

Tomorrow we will continue with the next bedroom, the kids bathroom and hopefully their room and closet.
I stayed until 5pm and then headed home. Carlos is working late tonight so I knew he wouldn't be coming home for dinner. On the way home Lisa called me and told me to stop by because she had dinner for me to take home . . . She made Lasanga, Salad and Bread and . . . . .Rice Krispy Treats for dessert! Thanks Lisa! It was nice to come home and not cook. What a treat!!! Thanks for being my wonderful friend!
Landon is having a friend spend the night tonight. Alexia is heading over to her cousin's for the night which leaves me and Sierra. Hopefully I can talk her into reading . . .I could use a bath and then a few hours of reading . . . REMEMBER! I read at least 10 chapters last night. I couldn't put it down. I think it was 3:15 in the morning when I finally turned out the light! I need to get to bed earlier tonight!

De'Etta - I love to organize and declutter. . I am not sure why except that I think my parents instilled that in me growing up and it just stuck with me.

Dorothy -I am not sure how I have the energy because lately I haven't been sleeping very much. I blame the book series I am reading. .. I just don't want to put them down. The one good thing about reading more is that it has got me off the computer more!
