It's Haircut Time!

I can tell the first day of school is just around the corner. All the kids have been asking for haircuts. Alexia had a hair appt today . . she was getting a haircut and Landon asked me to cut his. I used to cut Taylor and Landon's but now Taylor has a friend from church who cuts hair in a barbershop now so he cuts his.

As soon as I finish with Landon's hair he always says, "Hurry mom . . .get the hose and hose me off!" So i do . . . . .
and then he makes a run for the pool.
Ahhhhhhhhhh . . . .he feels so much better!

Alexia just got home from the salon . . . .she decided to leave her true blond roots behind and become a brunette like her mommy . . .. I have to admit it is strange seeing my little toe head daughter with brown hair . . . but she wanted a change :-)

Today Carlos and I spent most of the day at home working on stuff . . . paying bills, reading, catching up on things. I did make a run to the bank and stopped at Ken and Lisa's to feed Christian's fish. I hope to get to bed early tonight and do some reading in the fourth book in the Karen Kingsbury book called Rejoice . . .I just started it last night and I am almost halfway through.

Wow! Did you know she was going to do that or was it a surprise? She is beautiful whatever her shade of hair. I guess next you'll have to go blonde. Ha!

It does look lovely brown. But I wonder if she will find people reacting to her differently now?

Our two dds just colored their hais last week, too. Our oldest colored her hair VERY DARK brown and our second dd colored her hair a reddish color. It was quite a shock to see them both walk in with different hair color (LOL). I need to get our boys in for haircuts before co-op starts.

Thanks Liza . . I will let her know that!

Kathy - she mentioned to us that she wanted to go a light brown. So, it wasn't a complete surprise but there was a shock factor when she got home :-) As far as me, i was actually a toe-head when I was little . . once I hit my teens my hair darkened up. I did highlight my hair for years but the last 4 years I have kept it dark.

Dorothy -that is a very good question. Alexia is a very bubbly happy person. It will be interesting to see if people to change.

Cindy - I guess the girls are brave to try new colors. When I was their age I only tried suttle highlights. I don't think I would of had the nerve to try something so drastic :-)

Emily - cute do for Alexia. I have been several colors in the past 5 years and haven't noticed folks reacting differently to me - I'll be curious to hear if she finds that young folks react to her differently.

De'Etta . . .I am going to ask her in about a week what the reaction has been with her peers. :-)
