Traveling Day - Skyline Chili and Hangin out at Julie's

This morning our wakeup call woke us promptly at 8 a.m. I went ahead and got up but let the kids sleep for another 30 minutes. This was our first time staying at a Holiday Inn Express. I was pleasantly surprised at how clean and comfortable it was. The beds were GREAT . . .I love the fact that they do no use comforters anymore . . just white linens and then they leave a clean blanket folded at the edge of the bed. After getting dressed we headed down for our FREE breakfast and then headed out to leave.

Landon and Sierra were great travelers. I did have them set up with a portable DVD player . . Sierra's DS and Landons PSP . . .plus books, paper, pens and snacks . . . they did great.

Around 1:00 pm we stopped for lunch. I really wanted Chick Fil A but I couldn't find one so it was McDonald's. We went in to use the restroom . . .I was wondering how I was going to handle Landon going to the guys bathroom on his own . . .I always get nervous someone weird is going to be in there . . . so I ended up bringing our Motorola Walkie Talkies . . .I make him take one with him and then I talk to him the whole time he is in the bathroom :-) At least I know he is safe!

We arrived in Cincinnati at 6:30 pm . . .it was exactly a 14 hour ride from our home to Cincy. We had all planned to meet at Skyline Chili. This brought back so many memories because when we were growing up and went to visit our grandparents in Cincinnati . . . we always had Skyline Chili . . .Yum!

My parents and my aunt and uncle.
My cousins Julie and Mari, my sisters Steph and Michelle, my niece Ashley and Me.
All the cousins . . . except for Travis and Abby who are coming later on tonight with Todd and Joe. This trip Nathan is here !!!! He didn't make it to Sanibel due to baseball.
After dinner we all headed to my cousin Julie's house to hangout. The weather was beautiful . . .we all hungout in the backyard.
The kids decided to play Texas Hold'em for Dummies :-)

Sam and . . .. Ashley were the last two standing . . .Ashley ended up winning! The other kids played soccer.

Sierra and Shelby
The rest of us talked and caught up on some great stories! Uncle Jim and Michelle looking at pictures!
Then Julie brought out the Cookie Ice Cream Wheels - Jamie and Andrew

Shelby and Kaley
Nathan

Mom and Taylor
Then they decided to play some hoops!

And Jump Rope

We called it a night around 10 and some of the group stayed at Julie's. Some headed over to Mari's house and the rest of us to my aunt and uncles. After a shower we were all ready for bed.
Sierra saying good night to Uncle Jim.

You made it! I love looking at the different yards and houses through all of our blogs! That looks like a very large house and what an awesome yard for socializing and playing soccer, basketball, etc.

My cousin is an attorney and so is her husband. Also, my uncle is also an attorney . . .so they all have incredible homes! I haven't been to my other cousin's new house yet . . .we are going there today.

Sounds like you all are having a great time. I love family reunions.

I understand what you mean about our son's having to use the public bathroom when dad's not around. I tell my boys that if there is someone in there, to walk out. We always wait until it's empty. I stand outside. If I see a man about to go in, I ask them to please wait until my so comes out. I explain that these day, one can't bee to careful. I have yet to encounter someone that doesn't understand. If they did, it would raise a red flag.

Hope you have a blessed vacation.
