Sunday in New York City - Part 1
Sunday morning we got dressed to head to church. When Brenda use to live in New York city she use to attend David Wilkerson's church called Time Square Church. We made a quick stop at Starbuck's and then it was off to church.
This was my third or fourth time to his church. I end up crying as soon as the praise and worship starts. There is such an annointing in that place.
David Wilkerson was there this morning but he now has a senior pastor who does most of the preaching.
It was a wonderful service and it's so hard to believe that it is in the heart of Time Square. There over 8000 people who attend his church. They purchased a beautiful theater that is just incredible. I was scared to take to many pictures so these pictures do not give it justice. If you ever get a chance to visit NYC . . . you need to visit Time Square Church!
After church we headed down Broadway. During the summer's in New York they close down a different street each Sunday and have a Street Fair.

We then headed to a stand that serves the most wonderful Gyros. John had been craving these the whole weekend. Usually there is a line that is so long but we were lucky today and got right in to order.

The lunch was as yummy as he said it was!
Instead of putting the Gyros in pita bread we opted to have it without the bread.
After lunch we headed back to the hotel to checkout. Our flight didn't leave until almost 8 tonight so we had the hotel check out bags so we could walk around New York for a little while longer.

Emily,
I went to Times Square Church back in September 2002. It was amazing to see this church shining brightly in the middle of Times Square. David Wilkerson wasn't there that day.
Sounds like you all had a good time in New York.
Blessings,
Laura
