Saturday Camp Happenings

This morning I woke to find Carlos outside doing his daily Bible Studies. It is so peaceful at this camp that you can really get into your studies or just do some good reading.Having a good snack of fresh blueberries!Hanging out with the gang!Liza and Landon Sierra and Landon headed over to the kids area. Today they were excited because they were going to have lots of different water games.
At the lodge in the lunch line.Liza and SierraAfter lunch everyone headed down to the river to swim, sun and raft.
Landon and some of his new friends.

It's hard to see this but across the river there was a swing rope that all the kids enjoyed using today.

There goes Sierra.
Susha and I relaxing under the shade of the trees.
This was my view when I opened my eyes.
About 8 people from the camp took their raft boats way up the mountain and rafted all the way down to us . .. it took them about 3 hours.

Tonight during the service the Pastor from Tanzania sang a few songs in his native language. Then the pastor from Russian brought the message.

After the service they set out a huge movie screen outside and we watched a movie called The Long Journey!
Tonight Carlos had to leave for Seattle. He is preaching at a church there tomorrow morning and tomorrow night. The kids and I stayed here to enjoy the last day of camp.

I've only been to summer camp one time and that was last year. I never even went as a child that I can remember. There's something to be said for getting away to the mountains!

That must be amazing when you stop to consider that you LITERALLY are worshipping with Christians from around the world. Most of us won't have that chance here on earth!

Emily, has it been cooking hot there? My sil is in the middle of Washington state, and they've been in the 100s this week. Ugh! (At least it's very dry, so they don't sweat much, lol!)

Oh that seems like the kind of holiday we would love! You must be feeling so refreshed!

Cindy - I went several times as a child but never had a chance to go to a camp in the mountains! How beautiful and peaceful it was!

Kristine - it was an amazing week of ministry.
Also, we had one day in the 100's but then with each passing the day the temps started to drop slowly. The great thing was that the evenings were chilly enough to wear sweats and sweatshirts . . .something we won't wear here in Florida until probably November :-)

Dorothy - it was a very relaxing week! It was special to spend the extra time with Sierra and Landon too while the older three are in Missouri.
