Heading To Tennessee
This morning after breakfast we headed out for Nashville. Carlos, Jordan and Alexia left early this morning from Orlando to head toward Nashville too. As we were having breakfast at my uncle's condo my aunt noticed that the barges were making their way down the Ohio River. Here are a couple snapshots. We had a messup with our hotel reservations so we are staying tonight in Brentwood, TN which is a suberb right outside Nashville. We are only staying one night here and the other two nights in downtown Nashville.
We decided to go out for a drive since we got here 4 hours before Carlos and the kids got here. I had never been to Brentwood but had heard that many of the country singers and Christian singers live here. We started driving around Brentwood and we ran into so many mansions. The kids were amazed at how huge these homes were. One thing that I thought was interesting was that these subdivisions were not gated. We were able to drive right into all of them. Where we live in Central Florida all the huge homes are behind security gated entrances. I had Sierra take a picture of one house . . . the kids are still talking about all the incredible homes we were able to see.
After touring Brentwood we decided we were hungry. We found a little restaurant in Brentwood called Chile Burrito. It was so good . . . afterwards we splurged and on the way back to the hotel stopped at Chick Fil a and split a chocolate shake . . . we are now STUFFED! It's about 7:30 and we are still waiting for the kids and Carlos to arrive.
Tomorrow we will be heading to our next hotel. I can't wait . .I like to get settled and unpacked when we arrive somewhere . . .but tonight that won't be happening :-)
Tonight we didn't have anything to do so Sierra had her hair straightened by Alexia's friend Andrea. About 9 of the young adults from our church came in tonight too so they are staying down the hall from us.
Carlos and the kids left the house at 5 a.m. this morning. He was so tired!!! I had been talking to Carlos and then he got quiet . . . I looked over and he was under the pillows fast asleep!!!

I'm anxious to hear all about the 7/7/07 event! I was actually wishing I would have had more advance notice about it because it sounds like something we might have just decided to head over to!
We just arrived at the hotel in downtown Nashville . . .I can't believe all the people that are already here. I will keep you updated and posted as I can!
LOL looks like Carlos was VERY tired. Fun pictures.
I've been having problems with the pics loading on your blog for two weeks or so now. I have to stop loading the page otherwise I'll get kicked off. I had this problem with Cindy's blog last month, but it seems to have resolved, so I hope that yours does too.
Nashville looks neat! I've never been anywhere in the south (with the exception of Roanoke, VA two months ago, and that's not very "southern," lol).
How fun for Sierra to let the big girls play with her hair.
I can't click on your pics to get them bigger, and I'm wondering what is the tattoo on Carlos's arm. My dh JUST went out this week and got one! It's SOOO out of character, and I would have been a little freaked out, except that it's Christian. I figured THAT can't be bad! I'm hoping he'll let me blog it once it heals . . . I'm overly optimistic, I think, haha.
Jodi - he was so tired . . . I think he slept like 12 hours that night . . maybe more.
Kristine . . .Carlos actually has two tatoo's. I think he got them both when he was in the Navy . . one says mom and the other one is a cloud and a lightning bolt :-) I always said . . .at least it didn't have an old girlfriends name on it :-)
Adorable Sierra (as always). Did they lighten her hair as well or is that just from all of her time outside? It looked a little different.
You all have a BUSY summer! From one event to another - and all so varied. Neat.
Kathy - Sierra' hair always gets lighter in the summer when she swims! She has some pretty blond highlights from the sun :-)
