Friday in New York City- Part 1
Our friends John and Brenda invited us to a weekend to New York. Some of you might remember that Brenda has been on Home Shopping and QVC for years. She helps create and sell exercise equipment. She currently has Infomercials on all across the world for the Air Climber. You might have seen her on one of those or on Home Shopping Network. She also is quite well known for the Ab-Roller from the late 90's.
The weekend they picked just happened to fall close to Carlos's birthday so we also celebrated that while in New York!
Friday morning my dad drove me to the airport. I met John and Brenda at the gate. The three of us were flying together to NYC while Carlos flew from Kansas City. We had a wonderful flight and arrived to incredible weather in New York. A cool front had come through the day before so the weather for Friday was a high of 78 and low of 65 . . .it doesn't get much better than that.
The four of us got to Laguardia about the same time and then we headed to our hotel to check in.
This is our view from our room!
Carlos unpacking!
I was taking a much needed rest!
After unpacking and resting for a little bit we then headed to grab some lunch at Ben Jack's Steakhouse.
I wish I would of taken a picture of the steak we had but I was trying not to embarrass John and Brenda too much with too many pictures . . . as many of you know I take pictures of everything!
The steak was sooooooooooooo good! It was the best steak I have ever had! They seer it at 1500 degrees . . .the steak just melted in your mouth!
After lunch we headed to the Diamond District. We had to stop at the jeweler who made Brenda's wedding set. This is a picture of John and Brenda with Nebil. He is the owner of the factory and the one who made the ring for her.
We were given a tour of the factory! What a fun experience. For those of you who have been to the Diamond District you know it is jewelry store after jewelry store. Well above all those stores are the factories where they are making the jewelry.
Here Carlos is watching the worker put diamonds in a ring.
Extra workstations
Thanks Nebil for allowing us to take a tour of the factory!
After leaving Nebil's we then headed back to the hotel to get ready for the first Yankee game.
