Under The Weather and New Camera

This morning Lisa called around 9:30 am to see if I wanted to head to the gym. I had wokeup with a HUGE headache but I figured I might feel better if I exercised. Also, my older kids were all headed to the beach with a few of their friends and then to church tonight so I knew I wouldn't have anyone to watch Landon and Sierra tonight. So, I jumped out of bed, washed my face and brushed my teeth and was ready when she picked me up 15 minutes later. I made it through the 40 minute workout and then came home to shower. After my shower I ended up lying down for a while . . .my head was still pounding. I took a four hour nap . . . I wokeup and I still felt yucky. I just had Jordan come up to pray for me because I feel miserable!

Heading To The Beach!

Anyways, when Jordan worked at Best Buy he had bought a Sony Handycam HDR-SR1 that came with Full HD 1080. Working at Best Buy brought him some great discounts and he ended up getting a great deal on this $1500.00 camera. He also purchased a very nice bag to go with it too! He has decided to sell it now that he is headed to the Music Academy. He offered to me first . . he knew I was in search of a new camera/video camera. The only camera I have had for the last 3 years is my Sony CyberShot with 3.2 meg pix. After my nap I didn't feel like getting out of bed so I brought the camera and instructions to bed with me so I started looking it over to see if I would like this thing. This thing is kind of hi-tech and I am not too sure about it. Jordan just got home from the beach so he showed me how to use it as a camera . . .we then uploaded the pictures to my computer and then to the blog.

Sample Pictures

I am pleased with the quality of the pictures. It was also very easy to upload them to the computer. The other neat thing about this machine is that it doesn't use cartridges . . it has a HUGE hard drive 30 GB. I think I will like it because then I take the movies we would make and burn them to a CD . . .no more tapes! Jordan is giving me a great deal but he wants me to throw in my Cybershot. I am kind of nervous about not having a pocket camera in my purse all the time. So, if I do decide to buy this from him I will probably buy a new pocket camera just to always have in my purse or car.

My cousin's in Cincinnati are having a huge 4th of July party so Landon, Sierra and I are headed there are Monday. I am going to test it over the three days that we will be there. My two sisters and their families are going to be there plus my mom and dad are flying in too. From there we will drive to Nashville for 7/7/07 The Call where we will meet up with Carlos, Jordan and Alexia. So, by the end of this trip I will have an idea if I like this or not.

I just talked to Carlos and he will be headed home from work soon. I can't wait until he gets here!

I hope you are feeling better!

That sounds like a great camera. I understand what you mean about the pocket camera though. I have a Canon PowerShot SD700 w/image stabilizer and I LOVE IT!!

I can't wait to see some pics from that new camera!

Hope you're feeling better by now, Emily. I think I would also want to keep a small point and shoot for everyday things. Sounds like a GREAT deal on a camera though and one you probably won't want to pass up! You're already past the learning curve anyway, right??? Now that you know how to actually upload something from it!
