Lucy's (I mean Lisa's) 30th Birthday Party! :-)
Friday night when I went to bed my head was spinning with all the details of the next day's party. I kept going through everything in my mind. I must of really worked myself up because I was up all night. I was even emailing Ken at 4:30 in the morning with lists of "don't forget" items. Finally, at 6:00 am I sat up, threw my hands up in the air, looked up to heaven and said,"Lord, please help me get to sleep!" Finally, the last time I remember looking at the clock was 6:37 am. I stayed asleep for 2 your hours and then got up to get the day rolling.
Lisa had a BIG surprise when she wokeup Saturday morning.Ken arranged for Lisa and her best friend Kathleen to have a spa day at the Ritz Carlton.
Lisa had a BIG surprise when she wokeup Saturday morning.Ken arranged for Lisa and her best friend Kathleen to have a spa day at the Ritz Carlton.
"I am going where?"
They had the works . . .massage, pedicure, manicure, facial, body scrub . . .having lunch and relaxing by the pool and much more. They were both treated like royalty all day.
While the two of them were basking in the luxury of the Ritz . . .Ken and I were busy getting everything ready for the party. I headed over to their house with my van loaded with all the goodies to set up for the party. Ken headed out with Kaitlyn and Christian. He was dropping the two of them off at Lisa's parents house for the day. I stayed home with Ava and started to decorate and set up. After he dropped off the kids he went to get all the tables and chairs.
He got back around 1:30. We brought in the tables and chairs and finished up as much as we could. I then headed home to shower and get ready. About 3:00 I headed to the party store to pickup the balloons. I then headed back over to their house to put up the finishing touches and to get the coffee started. Around 5:00 the guests began arriving. Lisa and Kathleen arrived at 5:30 right on the dot. Here are a few pictures from the evening.
I found Lisa's baby photo albums and made a new album of her 30's years.
Ken had the party catered which was a huge blessing! He also surprised Lisa earlier in the week and had their backporch screened in. It was just perfect having the screenroom for the party!Ken invited around 100 of their friends and family. We ended up with about 75 people that night.
Boy, does my hair look short in this picture with Bob and Judy!
My mother in law with one of her best friends Rahme and her daughter Marcella.
Lisa's best friend Kathleen with her husband Nate.
There were people everywhere . .. all over the house and on the back porch!
I couldn't take pictures of everyone but all of Lisa's friends made it to the party . .. here she is with her good friend Larissa.
Lisa had her hair pulled back from being at the spa all day. I thought it looked so pretty all pulled back but by the end of the evening . . . . she relaxed and let her hair down!!!!
Happy Birthday Lisa! I hope you enjoyed your party. We had a great time planning it and I know you and Kath had an awesome time at the Ritz. I also want to give a big thanks to Cindy for bringing all the drinks, Bonnie for bringing the cake and Michelle for the huge cooler of ice. You all are the best! And to you Ken . . .thanks for providing the money! LOL!
Love you, Lucy (oops, I mean Lisa)
Your friend,
Ethel (oops, I mean Emily)
Friends Forever!

Beautiful party! What fun. Was it a surprise party? I don't remember if you said it was. Smart to have it catered (that makes it so much easier). Who did the food? Love the spa day. The screened in porch was a great gift and addition to the party.
Everything turned out great and you did, definitely, look gorgeous as well, Em.
Kathy, she knew there was going to be a party but she didn't have any details . . .but boy . . she tried to get them :-)
