Annual Coloring Eggs Day
Each year we have a tradition of coloring Easter eggs the day before Easter. This year my older three kids did not pariticpate so I was so excited when Kaitlyn and Christian came over so they could join in the fun.
The finished product!!!
After we finished with the eggs Ken and Carlos made a Wal-Mart run. We decided to grill out for dinner. Lisa and I started in on getting things ready and the kids all took off to play. I looked out the kitchen window and saw Sierra painting Kaitlyn's toenails and nails.
After dinner I decided to pass out the kids Easter baskets. I told Kaitlyn to close her eyes . . . she kept them close for the picture too but actually it wasn't her fault. My camera flashes way too much because of the red eye reduction and for some reason it's hard for me to get a picture of Kaitlyn with her eyes open.Christian and his basket.
Ava got a rabbit and a dress!
They all headed home . . .we cleaned up and then got to bed early. We had a rare cold front come through and it was so cold last night. Tonight we have low's in the mid-40's. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Hey, where were the big kids? Don't tell me children outgrow dying Easter eggs? I'm so glad you were able to grab some other little ones to fill up your table. Ha!
My mother LOVES to dye Easter eggs. Her favorite is having grandkids around to join in the fun but when they're not available, she will grab grown children. This year my brother and wife came over and the grownups (no children around) all dyed Easter eggs. I thought it was hysterical.
Surely you still had baskets for your older ones? I can't imagine you not having special treats for them as well. Pictures?? :)
Well, the big kids weren't even home. They were all out doing things on Saturday :-) I think last year I had four of our five participate but I am finding it harder as they grow up to still want to do certain things :-)
They all still get an Easter basket on Easter Sunday. I do make them find it . . .we always hide them each year . . .except for this year . . we tried something different!
