Teacher Work Day!
Today the kids had the day off from school due to a teacher workday so we decided to have some fun :-) My older three were hanging out with friends today so Landon, Sierra and I headed out for a fun day.
Our first stop was McDonalds . . . the kids request.
We then headed to the mall to walk around and to also check an IPOD out for Landon. He finally had saved enough money and gift cards to purchase one. We found an IPOD Nano that he liked so he went ahead and made the plunge. I also picked up a pair of shorts and a couple shirts for him and a couple shirts for Sierra. We then stopped at Dollar Tree to pickup candy for the movie. (Our theater allows snacks from the outside to be brought in :-)
We went to the theater to pay for out tickets to Bridge to Tarabithia. I have an AMC Card and ended up having a free ticket so I only had to pay for the two kids tickets. Also, I was given 3 free popcorn tickets and one free drink so we made out today by using my card :-)
If you all have not seen this movie - it was AWESOME!!! At one part in the movie the whole theater was crying! What a wonderful story!!!I highly recommend this if you have not seen it.
We then headed home . . .the boys played baseball with the neighbor's and Sierra hung out with her friend Katherine. I stayed inside and finished up on laundry - Yippe :-)

How fun to have an outing and get such great deals at the same time. How did your kiddos handle the sadness? I have friends who said the death ruined the movie for them - they were so sad. My mom said she did cry and cry but really liked the movie. Sounds like a special film.
Landon ended up crying but was all dryed up by the end. I think he could really relate to both of the characters because he has an imagination that is incredible! He is my most sensitive too of all five kids and he did ok.
Sounds like you had a great time. I'm always on the lookout for a good movie recommendation! I'll watch for that one to come to the $1 theater.
I was pleasantly surprised with this movie!
