Marvelous Monday!
Another start to a new week. I can't believe it is already February . . time is flying by too fast. Today started out FREEZING. It is so hard to get motivated when the temps are cold- there is a fire in the fireplace and you have a hot cup of tea. I just wanted to do nothing . . . which I did for 2 hours! I finally got myself up and going. I met Ken, Lisa and the kids at the house. I can't believe how fast the house is coming together. They should be in about 2 weeks. Yea!!!!!!! I then went back home to finish some things around the house that I needed to get done because I was going to be picking up Selena a little later. After the kids got home from school we headed to the church office. I had a few things I needed to get done in the office. When we got there Ken was there with their 3 kids - Lisa was at an appointment. It worked out perfect because the kids all had someone to play with while I finished up some work.
Lisa arrived at the office about the same time our friend Nicole showed up.
This is Adam in the pastel colored shirt and Moises. Adam is on staff here at the church. He is a tremendous help to Carlos and does just about everything to get ready for the Bible School each week. Moises attends our church too. He and his fiance Melany were at the church all day volunteering. Adam is also engaged to Christina who helps out on Monday's too. Both girls were at the office today but I forgot to take a picture of them before they left. Adam and Christina are very involved in a ministry called Bound4Life . What these young people do is go to abortion clinics with red tape placed over their mouths with the words LIFE written on the tape. Then they just stand outside the clinics and pray . . pray . . . .pray. They don't say anything just pray. We have another engaged couple Edwin and Heather that are involved in another similar ministry it 's call Pure Life Revolution - this group of young people put headbands over their eyes that say Pure Life. They stand outside Adult stores and bars and pray pray pray. I love both of these ministries . . . check it out when you have time.
Here Adam and Lisa are talking about the song service for this Sunday. Lisa is our praise and worship leader. She is technically still on maternity leave but she is still involved in the weekly songlist and has even started to sing a little bit.
This is Lisa saying "Enough already with that camera!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Selena decided she had enough playtime and she wanted to come and work with Aunt Emmy (me)
Sierra and Kaitlyn our budding photographer's wanted to take some pictures . .. he is Sierra's shot of the nightand Kaitlyn took this picture. We then headed home because it was getting late. Thankfully my father in law picked up Taylor from basketball practice for me. On the way home the kids asked if Selena could spend the night. I talked to her grandmother and she said that was fine. The kids were so excited as you can see.
Selena LOVES Molly - she actually calls her "Lolly".Selena just melts my heart. She had a rough start when she was first born into this world but is doing so good now. What a blessing she is to everyone! I pray for her each day. I pray the Lord will be with her all the days of her life and protect her from any harm. Please continue to pray for her parents Reese and DeAnna. They need daily prayer too. Pray that they open their eyes to the blessings that God has given them. Pray that they walk away from the things that keep them from their children. Pray that they get the help they need to become the parents that they need to be. Thankfully, she is blessed to have a wonderful grandmother and grandfather that take care of her on a daily basis. Many grandparents might not want to give up there later years to raise children but Della and Dave are blessings from the Lord. They are raising little Selena and her half brother Kody and doing an incredible job. I know Selena brings joy to the whole family. She is full of joy and I know the Lord will continue to have His hand on her life. When you think about it . . .remember to lift them all up in prayer.
All the kids are now all tucked in and sound asleep - except for Alexia who went to a friends house and Jordan who is at Bible School . . . may you all have a "Good Night"

Emily--what a sweet post! I loved all the pictures. What work do you do at the church? Boy that little Selena is really loved by your family! What a blessing for everyone. How dear that they wanted her to spend the night. I loved the sleeping pictures. Those are just precious. Busy, ordinary yet special day.
Well, I have done many things for the church since we began it almost 7 years ago. I started off doing the children's ministry. I then moved to the women's ministry and even sang on the praise and worship team. About 2 years ago I started doing some accounting stuff in the office . . expense reports etc. . . now I do a lot of accounting input stuff. Also, I clean our two buildings with the help of my friend Lisa once a week. So, I guess you would say my jobs are accounting and the custodian :-) As my husband says, "I am serving the House!"
Looks like you have LOTS of in and out boxes in your office!
Oh my goodness Cindy . . you are right. I never noticed that before!
You are a really good auntie and such a blessing to your family.
Dorothy
Thanks Dorothy!
