The Calm After The Storm
Who would of thought that when we went to sleep last night that tornado's would be surrounding us around 3:30 am in the morning. When we finally crawled into bed around midnight it was very windy and rainy but nothing too out of the ordinary. It wasn't until this morning that I turned on the TV to see the mass devastation 20 minutes to the east of us and about 30 minutes to the west of us. Carlos did tell me that he wokeup around 4:30 am and heard the worse thunder and saw the most craziest lightning that he has ever seen. He said he knew something bad was going on around us. I can't believe I slept through everything. So, far the associated press is saying that 20 people died in the storms this morning. Please pray for all the families affected by these tornado's. The horrible devastation that that they are showing on TV is unbelievable! The storms have cleared out but they left death and destruction in its place. We are very thankful that we were not touched but 20 minutes either way it could of been a different story!
You probably can't see this well but right in the upper middle of this photo is a buffalo . . .I bet you didn't know we had them in Florida!

So glad you weren't in harms way. Praying for the families in the devestated areas.
Thanks Cindy!
Sounds like an awful storm. Glad to hear that you're feeling better. great pictures as usual!
Emily, the photos in the midst of your story were striking. It's always slightly surprising to me that everything can look normal, just as it was the day before, when life so close by has changed so tragically.
It makes me think in opposites, God's creation and awesomeness, how He's greater than death and sin and sadness, and the amazing gift He's freely given us . . .
Wow Kristine! That was awesome insight! All I can say is Amen and Amen!
