Fun Friday!

Today Carlos and I had a great day! We got the kids off to school and then we headed out to run some errands and then do some Christmas shopping. We also ran by our church office and food bank before heading to lunch at Steak N Ale. After lunch we did some more Christmas shopping and then headed to Home Depot and Lowes - I want to change all my light fixtures and I am hunting for some new ones. After that we headed to Best Buy - we wanted to look at tv's. We need a new one for the family room and one for our bedroom - these will be our Christmas presents to each other :-) By this time, it was almost time for dinner - we met Ken and Lisa at Outback for dinner and then headed to one of our favorite hangout places - Books A Million. We are now home and I need to get to bed - I have to be at Lisa's at 6 am to set up for the garage sale. It is going to be in the low 40's in the morning - I told them to have the coffee ready! I had the best time spending the day with my honey - I told him we need to do this more often and then spending the evening with our friends just made the day perfect! Thanks Honey for a wonderful day! Also, a big thanks to my inlaws for taking the kids after school and for letting them spend the night tonight! We really appreciate it!

Oh, Emily, I love that alone time with my dh, and they are just too few and far between. Your day long "date" sounds WONDERFUL, and what a special way to reconnect after Carlos being gone.

Glad to see that you got to have an all day date with your Carlos. Not many couples are can or take the time to date. We are blessed to be able to do that.

We sneak away often, even if it's just grocery shopping or going to the local hardware store. It's not so much where you're going, but that you are together. ;o)

I love the picture. Hard to believe that Lisa is expecting her third baby. What a blessing!

We went to Home Depot and Lowe's today to get new light fixtures for our music room. Did you find anything for your house? Sounds like a FUN project. Dd2 wants to replace all of the door knobs in our house - lol.... she notices little detail things like that.

Kristine -it was a great day! We are going to try to do that more often.
Giselle - I agree - date nights or little get away's are so important.
Cindy - that is so funny that you mentioned door knobs - because I want to change all mine too! I also want to change my plumbing fixtures in the bathrooms. As far as the lighting - I did see a few things I liked but I haven't made the plunge yet - I need to go back and look again!

It is funny about the doorknobs. I need to take dd out to look for some. We changed almost all of our lights last year. This winter we hope to redecorate and partially remodel our downstairs bathroom and dining room. I already have the new lights for the bathroom, but not the dining room. I usually just watch the clearance table at the expensive lighting store in town and eventually they have just what I'm looking for on sale! This summer I bought 3 lights for $45 and they were originally over $100 each.
