Speaking of Chickens

Here is Sierra with a chick that her teacher gave her. Her teacher's parents have a chicken farm and blessed Sierra with this little chick. We won't know if it's a boy or girl for a while. Sierra had just had a bath - that is why her hair is still wet. :-)

The chick is now at home eating and drinking.

Emily, I was so excited to see the pictures of Sierra with her chick! Do you still have the chicken or did you give it away? My parents have 7 of them and they are all doing great!

My neighbor behind me has a small farm and he let Sierra's chick move in with all the other chicks, chickens and roosters. She was sad the day that she took her over there but the great thing is she goes over there many times a week to play with her chick :-) Also, I think her chicken is much happier being over there with all the others. I will have to take a picture of her the next time I see her. The chickens go between his farm and my backyard during the day.

I just realized that I kept calling the chick a she. Sierra corrected me when she read my comment and said, "Mom, it's a he." She is right- he is a rooster. :-)
