Valentine PM

This afternoon I took Landon to the dentist - he had to get sealants on two of his molars. When I got home I went over to Ken's parents house to see my God daughter Kaitlyn for Valentine's day. I got her a couple of outfits and her favorite gum Orange Orbit! I know this picture has her eyes closed but I tried 4 times and I couldn't get one with her eyes open! I think my flash was too much for her :-) My wonderful husband took me out to dinner. We went to one of our favorite restaurants but was disappointed at how they treated us. They seated us and then presented us with their "Valentine Menu" . It was $39.95 per person and included a salad, appetizer and entree. I told the server that I wasn't too hungry and that we were going to split one of the meals. She told me she didn't think they could do that. She was told by management that everyone who was seated had to order. I asked her to go and check with the manager and explain I had had a late lunch. She came back and let us know that we would have to order or leave. We were shocked . . .we couldn't believe they were asking us to leave. I am definitly going to send a letter to the owner and let them know how wrong we were treated. The evening worked out great though - we went to another great restaurant and we were treated great - the food and service was awesome!
We came home - made a fire in the fireplace and brewed a big pot of coffee and settled down to watch American Idol. It was a wonderful day - and I hope you all had a great Valentine's Day too!

Happy Valentine's Day!

This morning I wokeup around 6:30 am . . . that never happens but I think because I fell asleep at 9:00 pm last night my body wokeup early. It was really a blessing that I woke up that early because I needed to get our Annual Valentine Breakfast ready to go. I went downstairs and set the table - tied the balloons on the chairs and brought the kids Valentine baskets out and set them each at their spot at the table. As I was getting stuff ready I saw Carlos getting ready to leave for work. I said, "Where are you going?" He said, "I have a prayer meeting at church.". I was immediatly bummed. I started to have stinkin thinkin thoughts . . . I started thinking . . I can't believe he is not going to have breakfast with us like we do each year BUT then I thought . . .. Emily, he is going to pray . . how can you be upset at that. I then cheered myself up a little bit . . I was still disappointed that he was leaving but I didn't want to ruin it for the kids. After setting everything up I went to wake all the kids up.
For the last 18 years I have had a Valentine breakfast for my family. Also, I found these cute heart baskets that I fill with goodies for each child. They are filled with a shirt or two, gift card, their favorite gum etc. . .
Since Carlos and I decided not to exchange gifts (because of the farm we are purchasing behind us - that's our gift to each other :-) I did find this cute GUND Teddy Bear that says I LOVE YOU to set at his seat!
Another tradition I do each year is make "red" heart pancakes for breakfast. This year I also served sliced strawberries with it because they are red and they were so sweet and good!

I had to wakeup Jordan so he could eat with us.

Sierra received this cute outfit in her basket. She decided it was perfect to wear to school today since they were having a Valentine's Day Party.
After getting all the kids to school and after Jordan left for work I finally made it upstairs to my room. I was surprised to see the following on our bed.
I then walked into the bathroom to wash my face and brush my teeth and I found this card at my sink.
So, even though he wasn't able to stay for our annual Valentine Breakfast, he did remember me with this sweet basket, candy dish and bear and a lovely card with very sweet romantic words in it. I need to run because Lisa will be here to pick me up any minute. We are going to run to her new house and check out their driveway. The guys are there working on it now - plus the carpet was finished last night. She did get great news that they will be moving in a week from this Saturday!!! Hooray!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I hope and pray you all have the best Valentine's Day!

My Tuesday

I usually have some kind of photo to post but I forgot my camera so no pictures! My childhood friend Kelley and her family are here in town. She had called me once they got into town but the message didn't come through on my phone so I didn't get her number. I did call her dad's cell phone (her parents are here too) and spoke with her dad. He wasn't with her at the time but was on his way to meet her. He was going to have her call me but I haven't heard back from her yet. Kelley - if you read this - call me so we can get together before you leave!!!
I then met Lisa up at the church so we could clean the church. After cleaning we split a salad that Lisa's mom made. She used fresh vegetable right form her garden. It was so good!
After lunch I headed out to finish Valentine shopping for the kids. I am not sure why I waited until the last minute but I did. So, it was off to TJ Maxx, Target, the mall, McDonalds (for gift cards) and 7-11 to pick up a gas gift card for Jordan. I wanted to try to get to Kaitlyn's first dance lesson which is on my way home but I actually didn't pass the studio until 4:30 . . and that is when the class ended! Next time KK!!!
We all ended the evening by watching American Idol. After the show Carlos was started watching a news special . . .I ended up lying down on the couch to watch the show too . . .that was the last thing I remember. The next thing I know . . it is almost 2 am. I guess I fell asleep sometime after 9:00 . I am not sure why I am so tired but it sure felt good to get to sleep so early. To my "SHS" loopy friend Kathy . . . this time I just didn't doze off . . . I fell asleep!!!!!!!! :-) No
